Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
The kid claps a hand over his mouth. His eyes are huge and sparkling with something that looks like excitement or mischief, probably both.
"Sorry, sorry," he whispers loudly. Then he leans forward, like he's about to share a secret. "You're a hunk, right?"
Buck chokes on nothing. "I. What?"
"A hunk," the kid repeats. "You know, a hunk."
"I..." Buck has no idea what's happening. "Sure? I guess? I mean, I've been told... I work out sometimes—"
"Perfect!" The kid is already digging around in his backpack. He pulls out a slightly crumpled rectangle of cardstock and presents it to Buck with great ceremony. "This is for you."
It's a handmade card written in crayon, blue crayon. The handwriting is careful but wobbly, the letters all different sizes.
My dad likes boys and is single. He is a HERO and fights fires like Superman. He is a hunk. If intrested, please contact Chris Diaz.

Summary
Some like to use him a little rougher, a little meaner. They like it when Buck cries, when he trembles full-bodied underneath them.
He’s found he doesn’t mind that experience too much either, but it’s fucking intense.
He has to look after them all, gentle or not—it’s just his job, really, as an honorary member of the frat.
It’s never been directly said, but there’s an implication, and honestly, Buck doesn’t mind. It’s nice to earn his keep. He’s good at making them feel good. He feels appreciated, even when they’re fuck him rougher and make him sob into the floor. Sometimes, even especially then.
And there’s not much Evan Buckley wouldn’t do to feel wanted and appreciated. The sense of belonging soothes him like nothing else ever has before.

Summary
Buck knows it’s not sustainable by the fourth night, when he wakes up sweating and unable to breathe, one hand clutching his ribs where she’d stuck him the first time with the cattle prod and the other reaching to turn on the lamp at his bedside.
It’s been one week since he got back, so four sleepless nights puts him firmly in the "more bad than good" territory. What the hell is he supposed to do about all this shit? He alluded to therapy when he talked with Eddie at work the other day, but he’s not going to do that. Therapy is totally hit or miss for him. He’s been to two therapists, one was a miss, one a hit, which means he’s due for another miss.
He’s sure as hell not going to talk to Maddie about it, because that’d be, like, super triggering or something. She just got over her own kidnapping a few years ago. And who else, Eddie? Eddie had a traumatic experience in New Mexico as well; he doesn’t need to be responsible for Buck’s too.
But the fact of the matter is, something’s got to change. So, Buck decides to start self-medicating.
