They find themselves in Derry, Maine, on another hunting trip in just another town that looks so much like all the others they’ve been to. It’s nothing they can’t handle, this they’re sure of. After all, it’s not like anything surprises them anymore. Not after everything that they’ve seen - everything that they’ve experienced. This trip is just like the last, and it will be just like the one that’ll come after it. Drive to a new town that looks a lot like the last. Find a demon or similar creature. Kill said demon or similar creature. Flee the scene of the crime before the real feds show up. Easy as pie.
But Derry is anything but just another town, and the being that they were hunting down is not something that they’ve seen before. Not even close. (Try not to think about how you already know this. Try not to think about what you can feel lurking just underneath the surface of this town. Really, just try not to think.)

When his younger brother, Mordred, finds himself in serious trouble, Merlin can't just sit back and let his life fall apart. So, out of options, he turns to the one person who could possibly help him—the enormously wealthy business owner Arthur Pendragon.
Arthur agrees to help, after some consideration—but of course, everything comes at a price, and for Merlin, it happens to be his hand in marriage.
It's a matter of convenience, of course. Arthur needs a fake spouse to get his father and the public off his back about finding a bride, and Merlin needs the money. It's purely convenience.

There he finds a kindly innkeeper, his very weird historian gremlin nephew, odd people, odd situations, and even odder - himself.
A slightly absurd and very gentle story about coming back to yourself, finding a true family, and realizing that historian gremlins are actually really hot and rather amazing, and perfect to fall in love with.
