Summary
With a fresh doctorate and a year of teaching experience, Viktor goes into his second year as a professor at Piltover University with high confidence and an even higher class average.
And Jayce, after taking a year to spend some time traveling with his mother, makes his way back to Piltover to accept a position at the same university.
Conveniently–or not so conveniently, depending on your involvement–the two meet once again under less than desirable circumstances: they’d had a one-night-stand the week before, and are now coworkers in very close proximity. Neither expected to see the other after that, and neither is at all excited about it.
But there’s something about “all possibilities,” so, naturally, the two grow closer as time passes, despite their best efforts not to.

Featuring a very awkward reunion, because what does one even do in this situation; a continuation of a night that was only supposed to be one; ye olde forced proximity trope with a hint of miscommuniation; Viktor being pretentious about tea and Jayce not caring whatsoever; and a lot of semicolons, because who doesn’t love semicolons?

Summary
After Viktor gets a job at Piltover University as Heimerdinger’s assistant, he leaves behind everything he knows for a chance, because, for Viktor, a chance is all that really matters.
So he takes it; the chance of something better, something significant, something real. The chance to escape. He finds aversion, hate disguised as indifference, prejudice with a poker face, but he also finds more. A friend. Multiple of them. And something more than a friend.
A hope for life beyond the expiration date set by his rotting lungs and a desperate burning to be known.
“Viktor?” A warm hand was gently shaking his shoulder. He’d fallen asleep on the desk, hunched over his papers. He probably had ink all over his face.Viktor groaned and sat up as he tried to shake his arm awake. A weight fell off his shoulders.
A blanket. Viktor looked between the blanket on the floor and Talis, who shrugged.
“I didn’t want you to get cold.”

“Aw, man, those your dogs?” Yuuji puts the coffee down and leans out the window as he sees two snouts peek out from the center console. The man looks behind him and scratches their ears before he quickly shoos them away.
“Yes, they’re both mine.” He replies simply, glancing over his shoulder as one scooches up closer again.
“They’re adorable,” Yuuji laughs a little, craning his neck to try and see them again, and now both of their noses poke out again. He glances over his shoulder to grab the coffee he set down, and his eyes fall to a metal canister sitting on the countertop, “Oh, hey! You want pup cups for them?"

Satoru’s lips curl into a smug smile as he rolls his tongue over the lollipop hanging lazily from his mouth. Unbothered, his eyes sparkle with mischief. "Or what, Professor?"

Gojo Satoru knew nothing about love when he started playing his game. He knew nothing of its gifts and its sorrows and its consequences. There were only two things that he was sure about: for one, he was obsessed with space, and for another, he wanted Geto Suguru to notice him.

It was a frankly outrageous amount of money he was offering. Suguru's voice was cautious, suspicious, but he was interested. "If I don't hate it?"
"You have dinner with me," Satoru said, a grin beginning to stretch across his face. "I'll take you to that good shabu-shabu place up the street. My treat."
Satoru is a former pro-skier working as an instructor after a career-ending injury. Suguru is a cute local bartender who wants nothing to do with the mountain and seems immune to his usual unwavering charm. Undeterred, Satoru makes it his personal mission to sneak past Suguru's reserved exterior, even if the guy can't ski to save his life.

The burning pain is starting to come back again. It begins in his chest this time, slightly to the right. Yuuji swallows, reaching up to press his hand against it.
So, he thinks dazedly, as the universe begins to take him apart. This is what happens when you break a Binding Vow.
