Long black lashes fluttered open as the soles of her uncovered feet touched the ground. She wobbled on unbalanced knees before falling in a heap with a soft yelp, her silk white robes flowing into the vague shape of a dress. Grey irises blinked open with white pupils, soaking up everything it could see. The being surveyed the room with no small amount of curiosity, eyes sparkling with surprising youth.

The Crystal Gems, Yellow Diamond, Blue Diamond and Steven never could have faced White Diamond head on. Her power exceeded their own, even combined. She was the creator, and they were the creations.
Left with no other choice, drastic measures were taken.
White Diamond was rejuvenated.

Summary
On any other day, Adrien would be patrolling with Ladybug, and Nathalie would be assisting in another evil plan. Except, oddly enough, it didn’t end up anything like that. Instead, the two are forced to work together in circumstances that were previously inconceivable.
For once, the miraculous had nothing to do with it; unless you count an identity or two being at risk. This is fine, though. Really. There’s absolutely nothing that could go wrong when being taken hostage (according to Adrien's novels, at least).
Meanwhile, those left behind are forced to wait. Nobody is coping.
[Previously named Four Months and Counting — the work is undergoing heavy editing and reconstruction. Some chapters may be added to, merged or changed, while others might just require some spelling revisions and lore adjustments. I suggest a re-read upon completion and removal of editing markers.
