Summary
The Bilbo who left the Shire knew precisely who he was: the son of Bungo and Belladonna, a respectable Baggins with an inconvenient Took streak. A hobbit who kept his brass buttons polished, his pantry well-stocked, and his garden paths swept clean of autumn leaves. He was excellent at conundrums, impeccable with thank-you notes, and could recite proper tea etiquette in his sleep. He was punctual and proper, with nothing unexpected ever happening to him.
That was before he held the Heart of the Mountain and the blood of kings in his thieving hands.
The Bilbo Baggins that returned to the Shire did not know who he was anymore.

“Yes,” he admits quietly, shamefully. He wants to kneel at his master’s feet, at Daniel’s feet, and beg for forgiveness. He has no right to beg.
“Think of him no more, Amadeo,” his master coaxes gently, letting a hand roam freely over his stomach. The belly of the beast. “Purge him from your mind. What’s done is done.”
He wants his maker to exorcise it all from him. The mortifying malady of yearning. The undeserving love. He wants his maker to be kind enough to do what he himself did to the boy all those years ago – crush his skull in between his hands and kiss and fuck the torturous memories right out of him.

Armand throws the words like venom in his face, disgust etched onto his beautiful features and Daniel almost wants to cry at having ruined that feeble affection that he thought he could sense between them. "We go back to your place, as dirty and dark as you see yourself every time you look in the mirror, and you fall on your knees or you lay on your back and after letting me inside your mind, you'll let me inside your body, to take my fill and hope it'll all be enough for you to atone for your sins?"
Yes.
But that doesn't mean Armand has any right to say any of that.
