Summary
“Buck,” Eddie murmurs, softly, over and over again. It helps, Buck had told him. Hearing my name, not—not his. It helps.
Buck’s eyes dart to him, and there’s relief amidst all the panic. “I’m here,” Eddie whispers, smiling at him sadly. “I’m right here, darling. You’re safe. We’re okay.”
A sob hitches out of Buck’s lips, thin and terrified. His eyes are bloodshot, lips quivering. He’s wrecked.
He looks like a mess. He looks like Eddie’s.

Summary
He doesn’t know how he got here, but Eddie Diaz is experiencing the best kiss of his life. It’s two in the afternoon, they’re standing in a dingy motel room on the side of the highway, deep in the depths of the nothingness that is the New Mexico desert. He’s seen at least twenty health code violations since stepping into the room, and there’s not an inch of the building that could even be slightly mistaken as a safe haven for romance.
And yet, here he is, finding himself kissed within an inch of reality, romanced to the very depths of his soul.

Summary
After weeks spent in the agonizing limbo of having Buck right in front of him most of the time but being unable to reach him, Eddie pulls up to Buck’s house on the eve of Bobby’s one-year memorial dinner with their freshly dry-cleaned suits in the back seat and one goal in mind. Or, well, two goals. First, talk to Buck about what’s been going on. Second, bring Buck home and never let him out of his sight again.
Except Buck isn’t home, even though they’re off on a 72 and Buck never mentioned having any plans.

Summary
The morning before Buck and Eddie get home from Nashville.
-----
God, Buck still can’t believe Eddie hotwired a car to find him. Can’t believe he rode a horse. Can’t believe he snuck out of a hospital room through a window after stealing another man’s clothes.
Can’t believe Eddie hasn’t once denied it or suggested a correction when someone mistakes him for Buck’s husband. Boyfriend. Partner. Whatever name they come up with in their head, whatever label they choose, they say it and Eddie doesn’t deny it. Doesn’t even seem to mind it. Might even look like he enjoys having someone look at the two of them, come to a conclusion, and breathe that relationship into existence.
