Summary
Stella has never been a particularly worried person. Sure, stress from being crown princess with faulty magic has taken its toll on her, but it never drowned her in apprehension and guilt – not like knowing Beatrix has. They’re friends one moment, then fighting the next, and honestly, it’s driving her mad. What’s worse is that Beatrix remains ridiculously hot throughout it.
Or.
Stella swallows audibly from beside her. “I can brew you some tea,” she offers weakly. “Do you need anything? Food? Clothes?”
Beatrix frowns as she looks over to the crown princess. Her words stick uncomfortably under Beatrix’s skin, unreasonably displeased with this sudden need for affection.
“I don’t need a nanny.” She forces an eye roll, shifting away from Stella. “But… Thank you. For worrying about me.”
“Whoever said I was worried about you?”
An incredibly soft smile breaks across Stella’s face, and Beatrix can’t handle the sight of it. That’s when she notices the darkened indents beneath the blonde’s eyes, and she wonders how long Stella must’ve sat here and waited.

this is at the top of the kudos filter for tamber and for good fucking reason!!!! loved every second of this, and each cliffhanger every chapter had me wanting more. it was devastating and chaotic and endlessly beautiful and heartwarming. in love with them finding each other in different life times, unable to be torn about despite all the world throws at them. the writing was magnificent and inspiring, and i enjoyed every gut wrenching moment that kept me on my toes. like dear fuck, AMBER PUT THE GUN DOWN!!!! loved the repeated use of the word pussy, and it was vindicating to see richie EAT SHIT! such a legendary storyline and it was worth every second <3

The plot twists in the story were absolutely marvelous, and there were so many funny, comedic scenes interlaced within the work. I’m definitely giving this a re-read. It was such lovely and carefully crafted writing that never lost my attention for a second. <333

Summary
Raven eyes the truck a little. The engine is still on and it’s vibrating as it sits, roaring on the side of the road. “Looks like you could use a mechanic,” she says. “How far are you trying to take it?”
“West coast,” the driver says, purposefully vague, which suits Raven just fine.
“That’s where I’m headed too. If you do the driving, I’ll make sure we get there.”
The driver eyes her a little closer, studying up and down, and Raven fidgets, swallowing the urge to bark what are you looking at? She knows what she must look like; greasy hair that hasn’t been washed in days, thrown up in a messy tangled ponytail, rumpled sweat-soaked clothes, boots caked in Midwest dust, old fraying bag tossed over one shoulder, the crude metal brace strapped over her knee. She looks like a homeless person, or a runaway. A Lifetime movie in the making.
She looks like baggage, the extra kind that nobody wants to carry home.
The driver leans over, and pops the lock on the passenger door. It feels more like a gesture than anything else; Raven could have easily reached in through the window and done it herself.
