ahhhhh I love this!!! this is the perfect end to the story that we all deserved, but were denied in canon.
I love the author's skill in depicting both political and romantic tensions, it truly feels like the stakes are high and the conflict is real. Also, a wonderful detection of their relationship! For all Klaus plays the game and sets the stage, Caroline makes the moves. He waits for her, and doesn't force her, because he knows she will come to him eventually. This gives her the space to truly choose him, to give up control on her own terms. Allowing them to meet as equals who freely and knowingly enter a relationship which concurrently resolves her storyline centered around her trauma of consistently having her agency denied and her ability to consent revoked.
Also love the inclusion of the Mikealson's as a family unit and the depictions of each member as thier own force of choas united under a single banner.
....Totally didn't read this entirely in one sitting 🙃🙃🙃. It only took like 10 hours. Who needs sleep anyways???
