Summary
The weight falls, and a wet, choked-off gasp is ripped from your raw throat. It hurts, from all the crying while he was gone, from the look on his face when he came back. “I fucking hate you,” you whisper. Your voice is raspy, barely there between your shallow exhales. After he locked you in that godforsaken closet, you'd screamed at him through the door, spewing every hateful, awful thing you could think of, until there was nothing left. Every part of you still aches—knuckles bruised from trying to beat the door down, fingernails bloodied from biting them down to the quick. You'd torn yourself apart while you sat against the wall, alone in the dark, waiting for him to come back. If he came back.
“No you don’t,” Stiles says, but he winces anyway.

Summary
The Alpha looked confused and concerned all at the same time, so taking an educated guess, Stiles ventured a theory.
“Oh great. Let me guess… We’re lost aren’t we?”
Derek growled at the insult and continued to scan the trees, rocks and stumps around them.
“We’re not lost, Stiles. The landscape has… changed.”
“Changed?” Stiles repeated in disbelief, before intentionally wandering in front of the werewolf to block his view. “As in, the trees just grew legs and walked away?”

The housing thing is a nightmare pretty much everywhere in California—but especially the bay. Since Stiles hasn’t managed to snag himself a rich partner to pay his bills yet, he’s used to roommates. Housemates. He actually hasn’t lived on his own…ever. He went from his dad’s house to college dorms to crowded apartments. He’s been living with Scott since they were 19, and now that they’re grown, they rent a house with two other guys they met online. There were many hours spent rifling through Craigslist before they found Derek and Isaac, but it was worth it.
