Summary
"Why don’t we head towards the coast…" Geralt cursed himself for making the suggestion as he woke up, restrained, with a splitting headache and a roiling stomach. Even before he opened his eyes he could tell he was tied back-to-back with Jaskier. At the mercy of unknown assailants. Again. He should’ve expected something like this to happen. Destiny was still a bitch, and at this point she was becoming a predictable one... At least the boat was new.
When it seems like Jaskier is planning to leave Geralt behind and travel on his own, the Witcher finds himself unexpectedly desperate to keep the bard at his side. Blurting out the first thing that comes to mind, he recommends that they finally take that trip to the coast Jaskier suggested a lifetime ago. All may not have been right between them, but he felt sure it wasn’t too late to fix their friendship. His burgeoning hope is dashed, however, when they’re kidnapped and taken out to sea.

“Hey, did you do something new with your loft?” Eddie asked before Buck could share his movie pick for the night, squinting at what little he could see in the background of the screen. “It looks different but very familiar at the same time.”
Buck let out a nervous chuckle and tried to angle the tablet to show nothing more than just his now flushed face. “You know me, stress baking and home renovation shows are my main vices when I’m feeling down.”
Juggling a tablet and a plate of cookies in his shaking hands was no easy task and now that he knew that something was off, Eddie was like a dog with a bone. “Did you move?” Buck nearly dropped his tablet in his haste to turn it off but it was already too late for any kind of damage control. “Wait. Is that my house?”

“Which do you think makes you feel most loved?”
Eddie thought for a long moment. Too long, maybe. Then he shrugged, “Honestly, Buck? I have no idea.”
Buck’s brows pinched up. “What do you mean? When have you felt the most loved?”
“Don’t make a big thing of this, Buck. Promise?”
Buck made a show of crossing his heart, brows still raised curiously.
“I’m not sure I’ve ever… really felt loved in a relationship? I’m not convinced that I know what makes me feel loved…”

After finding out that Eddie doesn't know what his love language is, Buck sets about finding out for him. He begins a five week experiment, one for each love language, to figure out which will make Eddie feel the most loved.
