Jack's back is turned to Will. He's in the doorway, and Abigail Hobbs is behind him, holding his gun, aiming it straight at Jack's chest.
"You think I killed Nick Boyle," she says, but her voice is shaky. Her hands are shaky.
They haven't noticed Will, but—
"I'm not here because of Nick Boyle, Abig—"
But Will sees Abigail, and it's the only thing he needs to sink the knife into Jack's jugular.
Out of all the ways Will Graham saw his bright and disastrous post-BSCHI dance with Hannibal Lecter ending, even he didn't see it ending with Abigail Hobbs rising from the grave as Jack Crawford descended into the Inferno.
Two months later, with Abigail off to college in Germany, Will and Hannibal negotiate a tenuous life in coastal France, featuring an extra ghostly house pest and all the emotional baggage you might expect. Things come together and things fall apart in this gothic romance, Mizumono murder family (eventual) fix-it. Diverges from canon the night of the lamb dinner (the last supper).

“Well, neither should you,” Will huffs out a laugh. It feels strained and strangled. It comes out delirious.
“But you’re here."

It's time to eat out.
"Would you prefer water, tea or coffee?" Will asks, pulling out coffee for himself. "I'd appreciate a glass of water," Hannibal replies. He's still setting the table, having warmed up their meal. Will sees the care Hannibal put into the food just in the presentation alone. Cooking is quite an uncommon hobby for an alpha to have, but Will has learned to savor it and appreciate the gesture.

The beauty about Will Graham’s slow descent into madness— in Hannibal’s eyes— is that Will couldn’t have been descending in the first place; not into where he already was. He was merely learning how to embrace it.
Hannibal tilts his head forward and taps his index finger against his bent knee, lips pursed to keep himself from smiling. “I like to think that I have helped my friend embrace his most authentic and truest self. After all, isn’t that what I am here for? To help people in need.”

“Can it wait?” Will doesn’t move from his spot by his desk, where he’s currently explaining a case that’d been projected onto the screen, “You know I’m available any time I’m not teaching, right?”
“And we both know you’re not going to hang around long enough for me to talk to you,” Jack frowns, and Will can’t exactly argue back against that. Jack approaches Will’s desk, dropping a torn envelope on the dark wood.
Will recognises the handwriting instantly.

And so, they fall.
He remembers it more clearly than when they hit the ground. Surprisingly, Will felt content. Not to say he was calm, the animal inside of him cried out in fear, grasping and grabbing in some futile attempt to save himself. He gripped the only thing that he could in his flailing state, hands curling and white knuckled around the damp wool cloth that surrounded Hannibal’s chest. Hannibal was still, calm, insufferably so. However, Will could make out his face in the disorientating blur that surrounded him, his eyes were screwed shut, jaw clenched.

Summary
Will Graham had caught the Chesapeake Ripper. The murders had stopped- so why hadn't his delusions been buried deep alongside the victims that he no longer needed to fret case after case over? The hallucinations tracking him with every step outside of his home, the voices mingling and mumbling erratically in his ear.. it wasn't the encephalitis anymore. He was confident in that, at least. For the life of him, he just couldn't figure out why nothing made sense. Why the days blended together and the faces he once knew slowly grew farther and farther away as he refused help from anyone who offered it- no matter how many messages he received. A paranoid shut in haunted by the man he once knew too well.. Graham couldn't help but laugh. It was absurd, an unfortunate transformation from the once well respected profiler and professor he had once been years ago. Now, he spent his days wasting away. He couldn't tell if Hannibal would have found it depressingly amusing or deeply pathetic. He quietly hoped the former.
Or, a universe where Hannibal is a Wendigo that's haunting Will Graham.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter makes a claim about mirror neurons in Episode 11. It's wrong. Completely, objectively, 'did-you-even-go-to-school' wrong. As a psychology student watching Hannibal, I'm taking notes, and my dears, everyone in this show would be sued into oblivion and/or lose their licenses if this was not a TV Show. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of the show, but that just means I need to take a few bites out of it.
A comprehensive analysis of professional misconduct in NBC's Hannibal: cataloging every ethics violation, every bit of neuroscience BS, every workplace safety disaster that makes OSHA weep. Complete with academic citations, a work cited, and the growing realization that Will Graham could sue/own the entire FBI.
This is a living fanfiction. The list is long. The posting schedule when I feel like it. Everything is well documented. Dr. Lecter's therapy practice is a nightmare, and we are going to discuss exactly why . Of course with a dash of author's notes sprinkled here and there.
