Javadi mirrors her, letting out a scoff. “I wasn’t—who said—I’m not…” The scoff turns to a sigh. “If you prefer Ogilvie’s presence and is more comfortable teaching him then that’s on you.”
“Huh.”
“Huh, what.”
“Vadi, do you like James?”
The girl in question lets out the loudest laugh she could muster. “That’s your differential, Doctor?” She enjoys the little creases between her brows, looking like she’s attempting to solve the world’s biggest mysteries. “Anyway, I’ll make sure I’m getting that spot next year, so…maybe you’re gonna be seeing more of me.”

There’s a blush sitting high on her cheeks, a red dusting that’s so subtle that if you didn’t spend each and every day looking at and for Samira Mohan, it’d be easy to miss. Her hand is on the cushion between them, fingers outstretched on the cushion almost in invitation. It brings something to life in her chest, the realisation that maybe Mel wasn’t the only one looking, that maybe after all this time, she’s finally been found.
