Summary
“Then which types of ladies do you select instead?”
“This is an absurd conversation,” Benedict protests. “But – actresses. Artists. Unhappy wives with an understanding. The rare divorcée. Widows.”
Sophie frowns. “That is of no use to me at all! My watercolours are scarcely better than average. And how can I become a widow or divorcée if no one will marry me first?”

“Mama and Sarah have been grating potatoes all afternoon! They’d kill me if I didn’t bring you home to eat the mountain of latkes they're making.”
“Another holiday, huh? Yous guys have more feasts than the Pope.” Jack smiles for the first time all day. “Awright, I’ll come for dinner. But only 'cause of the spuds.”

Penelope doesn’t even have to think about it, not when her other option is staying in and listening to Philippa dither between brass or copper cabinet handles. Yes, she types.

Really, Eloise huffs aloud as their hastily-ordered carriage sets off for home, they wouldn’t have had to go through with this ridiculous plan if not for Lady Featherington.

Summary
Another Alvareider slow burn, but even slower this time? Don't mind if I do!
Writing, at turtle-speed, the season 4 I wanted.
UPDATE: This series is on indefinite hiatus as of spring 2025. I hope to return to it in a brighter political future in which discussing immigrant rights in the United States is less painful.

Summary
This is a reference guide intended to help writers of Regency-era stories by providing a quick place to check whether a certain phrase was in use in the era, and if so, how it was used. The earliest attestation dates of phrases that postdate the Regency era might also make this guide useful to writers of neo-Victorian fiction.

Summary
I had been on a walk with Flavian, when Bernard and I were both new. We had run into a salamander, and it had ended with me needing sixteen stitches and Bernard unable to sit down for a week. Christopher did warn me—"I shouldn't go if I were you, Hester; hiking is not one of the mandatory subjects"—but I'd trusted my previous experiences with teachers more than I'd trusted Christopher; and besides, my name isn't Hester.
Christopher and the young enchanters go to the circus. Conrad and Flavian go for a walk in the forest. Things go very wrong.

Summary
Hugh Davenant's relationship with Avon influences most of his life. Whether the influence is so strong in the other direction is more uncertain.
