Some people believe that. That destiny is set in stone and cannot be changed, that what was foreordained is what will be. And if certain people had their way then that would be the end of it. But they're wrong. Our fates are written by every choice, every action taken, every chance occurrence. The Book of Prophecies alone proves that.
And besides, if destiny was set in stone, then I wouldn't be here, now would I?

"Where are you t-taking me?" Leon demands, face flushing as he stutters. He can only imagine how rough his voice sounds after all that yelling. A tear trickles down his cheek, and the man grins, picking up his big hand and swiping it away. Leon cries out in protest, twisting away, but he can't escape the broad fingers that cup his cheek and turn his face back to centre.
The bag descends over his head a moment later, a helpless sob all Leon can manage before he's plunged back into shapeless darkness.

Summary
It's 1998 again, the ghosts are no longer ghosts walking amongst the living, and of course Leon wouldn't come back the same. Never Again.

Summary
Leon doesn't want to forget Luis.
There is no funeral nor living memory of the man remaining. There is no closure to chase the ghosts which linger away from the crevices of Leon's mind.
Perhaps that is why, as he lays dying, the man appears and offers to hold Leon's hand.

When Ada looked into his eyes, they were bloodshot and was iridescent with red. The infection looked worse than ever, marring his face until he was almost unrecognizable. Leon had an unsettling wide smile on his face.
"Leon," she warned, pulling out her pistol and pointing it at him. "Don't make me hurt you…"
His fingers twitched erratically as he clicked his teeth impatiently. "Oh, but you will," Leon taunted in a tone so unlike him.

Missing scene: on the drive to Raccoon City, Leon has Sherry look into Grace's background. What she finds is intriguing, confusing, and horrifying all at the same time... and leaves both of them with more questions than answers.
Oh and also Leon is very sick and doesn't want Sherry to worry about him. So of course he's doing a very poor job of making her not worry about him.
