    Unbeknownst to Izuku, he actually had a hidden and otherwise useless quirk; the ability to possess his own, and perhaps others, dead body. With impossible activation requirements like that, it should have been a long time before he discovered what his quirk was.

    Until the UA Entrance Exams, that is. Turns out, One for All doesn't play nice with others' quirks. And now he has to reluctantly share his body and mind with a handful of other ghosts. Just great.

    Midoriya never got OFA, didn't apply for UA, pretty much has given up on being a hero, and runs a coffee shop. Aizawa is his normal tired self.

    This is the story of how Izuku became a hero without a quirk, and how Aizawa was right there along with him.

    Watch as Izuku grows as a person, a hero, and an analyst. SLOW build relationship with a lot of angst and comfort scenes (with plenty more to come). Heavy trauma but it's mostly villains and the like, canon compliant trauma but more in depth (effects of PTSD and stuff like that).

    This story is not abandoned and never will be, no matter how long it takes me to upload the chapters, it WILL be finished. This is going to be a very long fic, since I plan to cover everything up to the Overhaul arc, so make sure you subscribe to the story. Thank you for giving this a chance!

    If his standard of what constitutes as living becomes skewed, that’s hardly his fault. Shame about the collateral damage, though.

Most people knew about the project, but they thought it was only a study on activating latent quirks. They didn’t know the truth.
    But the worst thing about the project wasn’t the secrecy of what was really going on behind the facade, or the illegality, or even the death toll of both the doctors and the patients.
    The worst thing about Project Bloodlines was that it worked.

    Midoriya Izuku, quirkless, went missing for a month after saving Bakugo Katsuki from a sludge villain. He came back a month later, different. Cryptic questions, knowledge of things yet to happen, and a quirk that allowed him to become one with the shadows. He was cast aside, being told he was creepy, a villain in the making. And through it all, he smiled. The world may think him a villain, he may only be looking for something the world could never understand, but he knew there was a fact everyone would have to recognize. He was going to become a hero.

    From the ashes of his own torment, he will forge his own path, with the darkness of the night standing at his side. And so, he will go to UA, get his license, and when the time comes. Well, I guess the world will find out, won't it?
