Lucifer looks down at his hands, covered in blood, at the heart clutched in them, at the split-open chest gaping like an open maw between his feet, and blinks. “Maybe I should have just asked him to dinner first.”

Impudent sinners who cross his way, literally and figuratively. The walls of the hotel when Lucifer pushes him just a touch too hard. The reputation of his rivals, when provoked.
They also tear through Charlie’s doubts when it’s needed the most; and through the dark fog that hangs heavy over Lucifer’s brain, just as it threatens to drown him.

Summary
The first week of Lucifer’s hibernation had passed by in such a calm manner that it lulled Alastor into a false sense of confidence. He truly believed this entire situation would pass quickly, and in no time, he would have Lucifer back at his side before he even had a chance to miss him.
Oh, how wrong he was. He would look back on those thoughts during the first week and call himself foolish for even believing them. Because now here he sits, slowly unraveling, haunted by memories while his love lays practically dead to the world.
