There was a feeling in his stomach Katsuki could never bring up when Deku's name was brought up. Something that tingled and made him feel all queasy sophomore year. He tried to push it down and pray that it was just sickness when it first started, but days became weeks, and weeks became months, and months became years. 12 of them, to be exact. And the feeling was always there. But there was a slight flaw in the way he felt for Deku.
Deku was dating another friend of his, Ochako Uraraka, or as he liked to call her, Round Face.
She was like, the perfect girl for him. Always sweet, always happy.
Sometimes a little too happy.
But Katsuki was different.
He was blunt, short-tempered, competitive.
But most importantly, he was a boy.
Alternatively: In which there are no quirks, Katsuki Bakugou has a crush on his childhood friend Izuku Midoriya. But, Izuku Midoriya is in a heteronormative relationship with mutual friend Ochako Uraraka.

Summary
It's their senior year. Izuku, Katsuki and Shoto are allowed on what was supposed to be a short, easy mission—all by themselves. But when things take a turn, Izuku is kidnapped and there's nothing the others can do but wait to save him. When he finally returns, his relationship with Katsuki starts to muddle. Let's just say that's where the real story begins.
Alternatively, neither of them realizes just how much they need each other until they're being forcibly torn apart.
"Stay close," Katsuki muttered, stepping closer to Izuku so he could better protect him. Izuku grit his teeth. He wasn't enjoying feeling like a damsel, but really...what other choice did they have? In their current situation, they were severely and quite utterly fucked.
"You have to leave me," Izuku blurted as the creatures closed in. Katsuki was now accounting for both of their backs—Izuku couldn't even stand himself upright. He was a liability. Useless. Katsuki had to leave him—it was the only way.
"You'd best shut up now, Deku. I'm not leaving," Katsuki shot back furiously. "And don't you ever even think about suggesting that again."- Language:

The words that bloom on Katsuki’s arm are painfully familiar, to the point that he can hear the grating, wobbly voice saying them in his ear. They’re specific in a damning way, but at the same time vague enough that it could be someone else who says them. Someone he still has to meet in a situation that hasn’t yet occurred.
…Okay, so that’s a bunch of bullshit and he’s not pathetic enough to cling to desperate hope like that for too long. But he’s got some time to convince himself it’s possible his soulmate is someone else. Anyone else.
Deku’s birthday is still a few months away, after all.

Katsuki clicked his tongue to an imaginary rhythm as he stepped towards his dresser and threw on the first outfit he could find, which was when he made the bad choice of glancing to the left and making direct eye contact with his reflection in the mirror.
He could see - and fuck, he could see so clearly, - the hazy image of Deku standing right behind him, staring through the mirror right back at him.
There was a scar going around the middle of his neck. There were scars along his fingers and arms, scars everywhere. It made Katsuki sick to his stomach.
His eyes looked bone dry, completely dead for any emotion he might’ve had if he weren’t…
