Someone has slid open the window. Lan Wangji does not move, suspecting that it is another Wen sect disciple come to torment him. But the individual does nothing. Lan Wangji can sense their breathing. Can feel the almost imperceptible warming of the air within his prison. In this focused state, he can even hear the fluttering of their eyelashes.
Lan Wangji opens his eyes.
A moon-brightened gaze meets his. Eyes, which had been as large and as curious as a child’s, widen further. A quiet gasp.
Lan Wangji recognises that gaze. He’d stared it down over the tops of his clansmen’s reanimated corpses.

Every syllable is viciously accented.

Kaveh had just come to terms with the fact that he might be letting himself get pinned beneath Alhaitham for reasons far more sentimental than he'd ever wanted to admit. Meanwhile, Alhaitham was apparently busy running logistics and performing thesis-level calculations on the optimal way to get him pregnant.
No fucking way. Alhaitham was a freak. And Kaveh was in love with this freak.
