Mike hoped it didn't sound as pathetic to them as it did to him.
Will grinned at him. "For sure. I can finally do something about that hair of yours."
Despite himself, Mike laughed out loud, cherishing the taunting.
It was going to be fine. If he could have this Will by his side again, he could take other men having their way with him a thin wall away from Mike. Couldn't he?
Or: Will gives Mike a little bit of tough love, encouraging him to stop wasting his life. Mike moves in with Will and Dustin in New York only to realize that Will has a very - very - active sex life. Summary
For a moment, everything fell away – the emptiness Mike felt, the ache of regret. All he could focus on, all that mattered, was Will in the doorway.

Mike Wheeler is barely holding it together in the years after they defeated Vecna, haunted by regret and convinced that he destroyed his chances of ever revealing his feelings for Will.
He finally gets out of Hawkins to go visit Will at art school. Will – who now has his own place, and a boyfriend who sounds perfect in every way. Though, when Mike arrives, he realises that things aren’t as perfect as they sounded over the phone.
