Holding back from laughing to avoid scaring the child further, Wei Wuxian offers a bright smile and softly asks, “Are you lost? Where’s your Mama?”
His act seems to be reassuring enough as his little friend relaxes and looks around. When his gaze returns to Wei Wuxian, who hasn’t moved an inch, he blinks slowly.
“Not lost,” he says with a little pout. “Mama is lost.”

It’s on a fine day in Gusu that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian decided to take the opportunity to go on a date in Caiyi. No nighthunt, no thrilling investigation, no class to teach. Only the both of them enjoying a quiet afternoon. Or, at least, as quiet as it can be with Wei Wuxian chatting around, his arm locked around his husband’s.

(Mo Ran was not usually one to make decisions out of preserving his pride, that was his huffy little disciple’s field—but he decides in this moment in time that there was no way he was going to let Chu Wanning know that his shizun was so incompetent as to have been caught off-guard and cursed. No, his disciple already had no respect for him; this would only further cement that low opinion of him.
He raises both his hands in appeasement and tries to wrack his brain with a convincing lie on the spot, “I have permission to be here! I…I’m…your shizun’s cousin. From his mother's side.”)
In which Mo Ran gets cursed to temporarily becoming 15 again, and figures out a few heartbreaking things about his disciple, Chu Wanning, as he lies through his teeth about his identity.

Even if his youngest disciple doesn’t find out about the whole dog situation, no doubt the boy would scoff at Mo Ran’s incompetence.)
Or, in which Mo Ran has an argument with his beloved disciple, Chu Wanning, for the first time, but then turns into a dog before they can resolve it. Things may or may not get more complicated than it should.
