Summary
He really did like living with his two best friends, and it wasn’t like they shoved their relationship in his face, especially since there weren't many public displays of affection they could do while sharing a body, and they could talk to each other mentally. It just got hard sometimes.
But then he remembered how sweet it was that Khaji Da would take control of their body to talk, even if it was just to Jaime, so that Bart could hear him, and how they both indulged the frankly ridiculous amount of physical contact Bart initiated, and how they never, ever, excluded him.
So Bart stayed, even if he felt a pang every time Jaime got that soft smile on his face that meant Khaji had just said something sappy without meaning to, or the three of them curled up together on the couch, Jaime and Khaji sharing control, making Bart desperately long to kiss them, or he saw tendrils wrap around Jaime in Khaji's version of a hug. It was fine, really. He was used to it.

He hated this. Bart absolutely despised how one little comment could throw him a panic attack in less than a minute. He had been doing so well, and now he was tucked into a ball, trying to quiet his hyperventilating. At first, he just bolted, but it was really hard to run when you couldn't breathe, so he had phased through walls until he found a safe place, curled up in the fetal position, arms protecting his head, and sobbed.

“You didn’t correct him. I waited for you to correct him and you didn’t.”
Obviously, Enjolras realized what he was talking about and Grantaire knew it as well. But it was a conversation he would prefer not to have, so he feigned ignorance in hopes Grantaire would just give up and forget about it, “I’m not sure I know what you mean.”
Grantaire didn’t even blink, “You do. You didn’t correct him at the start, and you didn’t correct him in the end. I would go so far as to say you confirmed his assumptions. You had no reason to do that– you already had your deal, it would have changed nothing."
Or, simultaneously a story about trying to obtain gunpowder for your revolution as well as a reflection on how being asexual can be very confusing.

Grantaire, without consciously planning to do so, bursts out laughing.
“You're an elf,” Grantaire manages, redundantly, once his laughter dies down. “Oh my God, Enjolras. You're a mall elf.”

Or, Enjolras and Grantaire realise how little they really know about each other, and that Christmas really does bring out the best in some people.
