Just as his fingers flipped the switch, that tiny moment before the room was suddenly dark, something caught his eye.
There, across the room, in the shadowy corner by the window, something moved. It was faint - barely more than a shimmer - but the outline was very human-like.
Daryl’s heart leapt into his throat, and he hit the switch again, flooding the room with light... Nothing.
