It's slow. The boy is trying not to damage the costume's head, moving his hair to the sides, sweat falling from his forehead. Dongmin senses his ears reddening at it, especially at the boy's big sparkling eyes now facing him. "Oh, it's you." The stranger says with shaky breath- he must have been suffocating inside of it, which, for Dongmin's bad luck, is stupidly hot.

“Do you know him?” Sungho asks, and for a moment, he doesn't recall catching his breath. “Used to.” It's all too much, but not enough. A part of him is waiting for the other to look, to know he's here, but the fear of being seen is growing fonder in his chest.
It's all so sudden and odd. He has come here knowing it would happen, but for some reason, his body is asking to run home. Home in the sense of his mother's arms, along the eyes he has grown up with that are now looking back at him, and for a brief instant, he feels fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen altogether again.
(or: Dongmin leaves the country thinking their feelings aren't mutual and Woonhak goes back to him 4 years later.)

Donghyun's fingers drift downwards to the threadbare hem of his shirt. "Sungho-hyung, are you mad at me?"
And that's just—right, so maybe this guy isn't as frail as he seems. Just what is he, to be able to be fortright to someone he's known for, what, five minutes at most, after knowing he hasn't exactly made a good impression? It makes Sungho feel—he's not sure, actually. Even more irritated at the levity? Envious at the self-assuredness? Curiosity as to how long he'll last? What would Sungho's life had been, if he had spoken every question he's ever had, he wonders.
Sungho could say Donghyun is his total opposite, but he doesn't know him well enough.

The funniest thing is that Sungho didn't feel like he was third-wheeling. For a while he never bothered to dissect that up until Jaehyun and Sanghyuk actually started dating, and then he just reasoned, It's because I've known them for so long. Turns out reasoning like that is sort of flawed once you make out with said close friends who are dating each other.
