    Summary

“No, I don’t like storms,” Remus whispered, the cigarette hanging loosely between his fingers. He could feel Siruis’s eyes on him, as he brought it to his lips and inhaled slowly, though he couldn’t bring himself to look back. They were already too close, as they sat on Remus’s bed, both leaning against the window, watching the streaks of lightning that tore through the sky.

“Why? You seem like the type.”

Remus shrugged, “it isn’t the storm itself, it’s-” he hesitated, unsure how to explain himself, “They never bring anything good.”

“Superstitious,” Sirius said with an understanding nod.

    “Suppose so,” Remus whispered.

A smile tugged across Sirius's lips and Remus raised an eyebrow. “You know," Sirius said, "every rule has an exception.”

    ---

It was in the fall of 1980, in the booth of a dreary pub, when Remus Lupin met Sirius Black for the first time.

Eccentric, charming, and endlessly clever, falling in love with him was the easiest thing Remus had ever done. Though love is rarely enough when faced against lifetimes of injustice, and being in love with Sirius Black is far more difficult than falling in love with him.

    Summary

Sirius and James are in town investigating a string of suspicious and gruesome murders, trying to stop who—or what—is responsible before they strike again.

Remus is a local barista/PhD student who finds himself inextricably linked to the case.

Sirius has dealt with ghosts, ghouls, witches, and warlocks—but this might be the most difficult job he's worked yet.

    Summary

Ever chivalrous, while tagging along on his best friends’ honeymoon, Sirius decides to cart himself off to northern Germany and offer them a few days of complete privacy. While away, though, late at night in a bar on the edge of Eutin, he hears of an old oak tree with a knothole for a letterbox. An old oak tree storied to bring soulmates together.

And, well...six ill-considered glasses of wine later find Sirius face to face with the Bridegroom’s Oak, climbing its ladder to poke a tipsily-composed mess of a letter through the hole. Call it a whim. Call it a momentary lapse in judgement. Call it a drunken tale to be forgotten about come morning.

And forget about it, he does.

Or, at least, he does until six weeks on, back home in London, when he receives a letter in reply.

TW: explicit descriptions of anorexia nervosa.

Remus has abandoned the wizarding world in favour of a muggle life, and he now leads a solitary existence, battling with both mental health struggles and questionable friendships. The marauders, that have spent the better part of the last year convinced he was a death-eater, seem to find their way back to him.

    or:

Miscommunication trope to the highest degree available, and sick people hurting each other because they don't know any better.

    Summary

This is a story of the marauders told from Remus' POV.

Remus is raised in Wales by a single mother before getting the chance to start at Hogwarts. How will Remus get on with the other people in his class, how does he deal with being a werewolf and how can friends become family?

This is a wolfstar story, but it's a slow burn with a heavy emphasis on SLOW. The story will have a focus on Remus' thoughts and feelings, it explores the complex relationships between the marauders. How do you balance platonic and romantic feelings? What is family? And what makes you the person you are?

This will not be canon compliant, but it is set in the 70s and in the magical universe. I hate that I feel the need to write this, but due to seeing multiple fanfictions written with AI i want to make it clear that NO AI has been used in writing this. The story you are reading is human, it is 100% me.
