Summary
Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent are required by the Justice League to complete a series of simulated Compatibility Trainings as a result of a violent incident during a mission after Clark ended his relationship with Bruce. Though Bruce and Clark have kept their relationship a secret so far, their explosive emotions threaten to expose them and prevent them from passing this test.

Bruce thought back to that night at the warehouse, and his chest tightened with anxiety. It was the last time they had spoken, and even then it was less of a conversation and more of a screaming match accompanied by explosions. He thought of the destruction they left behind. For a reason he couldn't quite articulate, he wanted to see Clark angry like that again. It was the first time he ever saw Clark truly seething. But now, in this maddeningly quiet room, Clark would not betray his stoicism. Clark would not dignify him with the truth.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Clark said, gathering his things and leaving.
Bruce stood alone in the conference room, blood still wet on his tongue, remembering how it tasted to love Clark Kent. Like hurt. Like secrets. Like steel.

Distantly, Bruce knew this was a bad idea that he was almost certainly going to regret.
That thought was gone almost as soon as it came, however, as he stumbled outside the large doors of the gala venue with his phone in hand.
OR: a heartbroken Bruce drinks a bit too much at a gala, and calls his ex to beg for another chance.
This confuses Clark, who was pretty darn sure Bruce was the one that had broken up with him, but Bruce seems to believe the opposite.

“Bruce Wayne? From Gotham?” the security guard asks, scooting closer to Bruce on the marble floor.
“Is there another?” he asks snootily. Excuse him, but he had his face shoved against a hard floor, a bullet shot into him, and now he’s entertaining discussion in what should be a very traumatic experience for the group around him. In a way, he knows this is a helpful exercise, but for both his and their wellbeing, he needs to think a plan out. “Yes, I am a billionaire from Gotham.”
