It is said fact that made it obvious to him that he is not his parent's blood-related son. Horrible care and quick temper as his younger brother was born came to light aside, he doesn't look like his parents at all, and to a ten years old Ryoumen who was interested in genetic science, that was a no brainer.
What is a brainer for 20 years old Ryoumen though is to bump into someone who looks exactly like him, easy smile and cheerful eyes aside, as he does one of his part time jobs.

This fic solely responsible for making me read Emma by Jane Austen. It's just so funny and fun, and rereading it after reading Emma, make me even more sure that the adaptation is so seamless. The choices for the cast of characthers are also really well picked. Just a solid adaptation and a fun time.

There's a level of intimacy between Hollanov here that is much further explored than it is in the canon. It's a very, very interesting exploration of their dynamic and an example of the best use of fanfic. So beautifully written, it makes your heart full.

I have zero knowledge of classical music, but if there is anything I appreciate, it's a fanfic author who knows their shit, and this author knows their shit. It's a brilliant, beautiful story that takes one of the main cores of WangXian, the fact that they are both musicians, and expands and alters it into something both familiar and foreign. Personally I have lot of strong opinions regarding transplanting characters from Asian media into a modern Western, mostly American setting, especially in modern AU but when it's done with a clear intention and it makes sense to the story, and in this particular instance, in fact, it enhances the story, it's just a fun experience to read about. The world-building is subtle, but it's witty and full of personality.
One of my favourite scene is to know that Wei Ying just filled Lan Zhan with so much muse and inspirations that it became almost debilitating to him, that scene is just, well... the hopeless romantic in me just got her breath taken away. Also given that WangXian are musicians in canon, I am surprised modern musician AUs aren’t more common, but if you are looking for one, this is a must-read.

One of the most unique premise I've ever come across and boy, does it deliver so much more than I was expecting for!
It's sexy and witty and funny, but also very soft and kind. Defractum is perhaps one of the best author to enbodied both Wei Ying's voice and Lan Zhan's. Their Wei Ying is intellegent, kind, honest, ruthless and witty, I never once doubt this could be our canon Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan, god, Lan Zhan. His truly is a voice that is so succinct that sometime it gets drowned to a simplfied version of his canon self and this Lan Zhan is quiet, still a man of a few word but his personality is loud and full, his humor rings loud in the subtlest way like it does in canon. The plot is exciting, the world building is fascinating but the characthers are what made this fanfic come to live, not just WangXian, mind you, but the whole supporting cast also stand out.
Truly, not just one of the best WangXian fic to enjoy but also one of the best fanfic I've read.

Until My Feet Bleed and My Heart Aches walk so that Heated Rivalry can run lol.
On the other hand tho, this remain one of the most beautifully written fic I've read. The emotions, the anxieties, the confusion and the secrecy, but also the love and passions between both Yuuri and Victor. What a fic to define a fandom.
