When he gets back from his brief getaway in another universe, Peter feels different. Hopeful and motivated, his brain is racing with plans even before he’s pulled himself out of his universe’s giant, fallen shield-free version of New York Harbor. By the time he’s back to his undecorated, barely furnished studio apartment, he’s composed a to-do list in his head. It’s not specific enough to be called a plan—just goals, small and large, mostly vague, probably all of them too ambitious—but Peter feels good today, high off a fight that ended well and a comradery he hasn’t had in years. He’s sad it was all over so quickly, but he’s home now, feeling alive. Feeling ready.
Peter knows, with a certainty he’s never felt before, that his life could be different.
Peter 3 attempts to get his life back on track, and falls in love in the process.

Summary

In the wake of Gwen’s death, Peter has finally put the mask back on, but nothing’s the same as it once was, and the thrill has gone out of Spider-Man. The Fantastic Four’s arrival only makes everything worse. The Human Torch is good looking, he’ll give him that much, but Peter has no plans of making friends. A series of strange attacks and a fateful encounter on the docks may not leave him much choice.

Ha la chiave elettronica ancora in mano, il corpo fiaccamente disteso sul letto della camera d’albergo, ed una faccia che deve essere eloquentemente perplessa, visto come quei due pozzi azzurri lo fissano in attesa di una risposta che dalle sue labbra non è ancora arrivata.
« T’ho solo chiesto se vuoi scopà, » rifrasa lei, in realtà usando le stesse identiche parole, ma con la bocca appena più dischiusa. Sembra sbigottita, con l’espressione precisa di chi non si aspetta di ricevere un “no”.
