“Listen,” Naruto rationalizes, raising both hands as if to emphasize that he is in no way anything resembling a threat. The back of his neck is sweating and he wants to rub the droplets away, but he can’t risk Sasuke perceiving that as an attack. “When I said you should get a hobby, this is not what I meant.”
“You just want me to be holed up in your apartment waiting for the day that the old fucks in the Tower decide that I’m a trustable kind of violent?” He scoffs. “You’re the one that wanted me back in the village so bad. What’s the issue?”
Naruto drags heavy hands down his face in frustration. The slight breeze leaking in from the cracked window isn’t enough in this suffocating heat. “The issue is that you don’t even see that you’re just getting talked into some cult-adjacent bullshit. Again.”
Sasuke crosses his arms over his chest defiantly. “I don’t see how selling leggings is cult-adjacent. My therapist says it's a perfectly respectable post-war activity.”
