Weeks after Jayce wakes up on the roof of the Hexgates alone save for a mildly concussed Ekko, he is deep in mourning for his partner, seemingly lost to the Arcane. Jayce is still grieving when alarms sound out over the city. Something has been spotted on the horizon—a giant metal construct with strange gold and greyish-purple skin—and it’s headed right towards Piltover.

Jayce does a theatrical turn and grandly gestures towards the Brainstorming Board like he’s at the annual Engineers Symposium. A fat bead of blood flies off his finger and punctuates “REASONS NOT TO KILL JAYCE TALIS.”

Summary
They keep materializing in and out of realities, familiar and unknown, still unstable but mercifully together.
In this instance, his muscles are sore, like he hasn't spent a day in a bed in years, and the distinct cold metal shifting against his calf immediately brings him back to humid caverns and desolation. He expects the purple, greyish skin before he even turns his head to look at Viktor. They usually match. It usually tugs something in his chest: how, to their very core, they can only be a pair.
A very different feeling fills his heart as two piercing, flaming eyes flare at him. His whole body reflexively seizes, bracing for a strike, stuck in a fight from eons ago. Viktor's voice tears him back to reality."Would you like to look?" His tone is mild, unassuming. Friendly.
He breathes in, shuddering, nods.

Jayce seems to be drawn to Viktor in more way than one.
