    Summary

“Your lungs have collapsed. You can barely breathe on your own. Aang’s been keeping you alive with airbending.”

Oh. That explains a lot. Zuko can’t do anything but choke in response.

Thankfully, the Water Tribe boy isn’t looking for a response. “Not even four hours ago, Katara was the only thing keeping you from bleeding out on the pier. You’re probably just minutes away from being back where you were then.” He accentuates his point by gently applying more pressure to Zuko’s injury. Fucking ow. “You need them. If you want to stay alive, you don’t try anything. Okay?”

    Shit.

    . . .

When his ship explodes, Zuko isn't so lucky to get away unscathed. No amount of firebending can protect him from the solid steel the explosion launches everywhere. His ship is lodged in his chest, and he can't breathe. He must rely on the Avatar to do it for him.

    Summary

When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH. No slash, no romance. NOW COMPLETE!

A wonderful story. I read it in one go over the course of three days.

    Summary

The story took a different turn after the Siege of the North when Zuko was captured by the Water Tribe.

A lot of prisoner trope, found families, and not-adoptions... And Zuko having to deal with more trauma than in the canon

    Bookmarker's Notes

I've had a ton of fun reading through this story. It may not be as polished, language-wise, due to the author not being a native speaker, but if you like exploring psychological aspects in connection to imprisonment, then this will be interesting for you. Though, pay attention to trigger warnings, especially in the first part. In the first read-through, I didn't even read it in order and still enjoyed it.
The different parts show a variety of imprisonment forms, different types of captors, and the aftermath of torture on mind and body.
What I appreciated especially, are the unique OC's and how they spice up the story.

I've started to translate this series into German, with the goal to improve the quality of wording, at least in my native tongue. It's been fun so far.
