“Certainly not.” Gale tells him, but his eyes stay closed and he’s tilting back into the chair enough that Astarion has to shift up to follow. He’s warm, but he is always warm and Astarion hasn’t eaten since yesterday evening, so his own chill skin is hardly a good measure. “I plan to shackle you with my company for many years to come, my love.”

Just days after Gale asked Astarion to marry him, the wizard had the utter audacity to not only fall ill, but deny he was until he was hacking and wheezing with every breath he took.
