Chapter Text

Gregory POV - 1 week later

Things have completely changed since the Underground. The Monsters are back on the surface, they seem to be settling in well. Frisk is now living with Toriel, Asriel, and Chara. The sadness that Toriel carried with her is now gone for the most part. She still feels the loss of the previous kids that fell into the Underground. But she has her children back and has gained another one by adopting Frisk.

Once things got situated for the monster Vanessa and I worked on exposing the Pizzaplex for their negligence. Fazbear has always been sure to hire the best legal team. But thankfully with as much control Vanessa had over the Pizzaplex we had enough video evidence as we needed. The Daycare Attendant traumatizing the toddlers, the total disregard for safety, and the deaths caused by the Mimic, all of which only scratch the surface.

It didn’t take too long for the Pizzaplex to be shut down. Fredbear immediately tried to take the Glamrocks back and threatened to sue Vanessa if she didn’t ‘return Fazbear property’. Thankfully Sans was there and helped us by bringing out the Glamrock souls. While the animatronics souls aren't the same as humans, the display of sentience was enough for Fazbear to back off. And with enough public outcry all the other animatronics were let go as well.

I didn’t know where to go after we left the underground. But I was shocked when Vanessa offered to take me in. She knew I was homeless since she saw me in the alley, but I never thought…… While I was still shaken up by knowing about Vanny, I reluctantly agreed. I know that it wasn’t her. Staying with us are the Glamrocks, including one that was once forgotten. With the condition Bonnie was in, it took a while for Alphys to fix him. It was heartwarming to see Freddy reunited with him once he was activated again. Bonnie was confused and was hurt about what Monty did, and that’s before we got into telling him about what happened with the Pizzaplex. Freddy introduced me to him, and Bonnie was more than happy to meet me. He was kind like Freddy, and once things started to settle in from him, he was nothing but cheerful.

It’s weird living with all the Glamrocks. While I’m more than happy to have Freddy around, the others are……

“Quit hogging the mirror! “More of a challenge to adjust to. As I listen to Roxy shouting at Chica, I lean back on the couch as I continue to watch the tv. Roxy has been one of the more challenging ones to live with. Her self-centered attitude has made approaching her off putting, but the more I’ve been around her I can see that it’s a cover for her own self insecurities. I remember back in the Pizzaplex seeing her crying while I was inside Freddy. Freddy has been offering her support and surprisingly she has been more tolerable around us. Chica on the other hand has been nice and was understanding of my situation at the Pizzaplex. But ever since she arrived the fridge to our house has ‘mysteriously’ been getting raided every other night.

Sun and Moon are unique. Fazbear never planned for him to be around the older kids, so he still treats me as if I was a toddler. His protective tendencies can get annoying after a while as well. But his brightness and his caring are enough to make up for it. With Moon no longer affected by the virus he isn’t violent anymore. He’s very strict when it’s time for any of us to go to bed and is a little more prone to shouting than Sun but he still has moments of niceness.

My thoughts are interrupted by the knock at the door. Vanessa opens it and Frisk and Sans come in. “Great, you're here! I’m sorry for us rushing you all here, but this can’t wait!” Frisk looks at us with concern and worry as they take a set with Sans on the couch. Getting up I help Vanessa set up the computer. Sans meanwhile watches us; his smile still there yet hints of worry present on his face.

“is everything ok? after everything that has happened, I know there is a lot to go through.”

“Thanks, it means a lot. But it’s nothing like that. It has to do with the virus.” Vanessa's face is pained as she mentioned it. Gently I hold her hand, she looks at me and takes a deep breath before continuing.

“While I was under his control, Glitchtrap wanted me to continue his legacy. But that's not the only thing I was working on.” Turning the computer to face them, Frisk and Sans look at the map of the pizzaplex. Right now, it’s on Roxy raceway. Zooming into the far left of the room, she pulls up a picture of an elevator surrounded by broken concrete walls, and debris.

“He wanted to have a physical form, so I helped build it. Before I came it was just an endoskeleton. So, I helped strengthen and refine it. While it’s not finished it’s still down there.” Sans tense up as he registers the news. Frisk looks worried as they continue listening.

“How has it been managing to hide down there all this time?” Sans says as his eyes dim.

“There used to be an old Fazbear location where the Pizzaplex was constructed. It was meant to be refurbished to be part of the Pizzaplex. But it murderd the workers down there, causing the project to be scrapped.” While I saw the elevator while in the Pizzaplex, I never actually went down into the sinkhole. When Vanessa told me what was down there, I felt frozen with fear. Apparently, it’s where the original William Afton met his end, and the remainder of his victims were set free.

“It won’t stay down there much longer. Once it finds a way out, there is no telling how much damage it’ll do.” My voice is shaky and somber.  She told me what it did to the people down there. It can’t get out. There’s been enough misery already.

“don’t ya worry, where right behind you with this.” Sans gets up as Vanessa goes to call Alphy’s. One thing's for sure no matter what happens. That thing can’t escape.

Trapping the Mimic was hard. Sans wanted to take it head on and destroy it, but Frisk talked him out of it. Even though we're sure San’s could take the Mimic easily in a fight, Frisk doesn’t want to risk it. Due to their Pacifist nature, they also didn’t feel comfortable with the idea. So, with enough Begging Sans gave in.

Vanessa and Alphys worked together on the M.X.E.S security system. Alphy’s assured us that once sealed away, the Mimic would never see the light of day again. The only thing we had to do after that was get it in the room and seal it in. Sans volunteered for the job of luring it in the selected room.

Me along with Sans, Vanessa, Frisk, and Freddy went into the sinkhole and made our way to the old pizzeria. Seeing it in person left me feeling haunted, the place looked wrecked and crumbling. The fire damage doesn’t help it either. Besides the Mimic no one else is inside it, yet - it feels like anything could leap out at any moment and drag us into the darkness. But I couldn’t get distracted. The Mimic could be in any one of those rooms.

Going into the building Sans was on high alert, making sure nothing was sneaking up on us. The rest of us were helping bring the security system inside the building. After setting it up, the rest of us hide. Next to us are the bags of concrete we brought, ready to use as extra protection to block the Mimic from leaving.

Before Sans left to find the Mimic, Frisk saves just in case anything goes wrong. Once they were done Sans went off into the darkness. Five minutes later we heard running coming from down the hall, with one set of footsteps sounding heavy and metallic. Sans was able to run into the room, the Mimic was right behind him. The sight of it left us in terror. Even Vanessa despite working on it winced and shrunk back a little at seeing it again. The Mimic seeing Sans run into the far room, it takes the bait and charges inside just for Sans to teleport away at the last second.

Before the Mimic could react, Vanessa activated the security door, locking the Mimic inside. As the Mimic pounded away at the door, we poured the concert using an automatic system. Once were sure the Mimic is secured, we activate the M.X.E.S Security system. Suddenly the avatar of the system springs to life and analyzes us. Thankfully we have our faces on its database, so it knows not to sick the security measures on us. For obvious reasons it’s not voice recognition.

With the Immediate threat of the Mimic dealt with, we finished off by installing the security nodes. With the design of the system, if the M.X.E.S detects anyone around the Pizzaplex or in the V.A.N.N.I network, it will send a distress signal to any animatronics still in the area to subdue them. If that happens, we will be notified, and a group of Ex royal guards will be sent out to escort the person away.

Now with the system in place hopefully we can put all our troubles behind us. No more terror, no more bloodshed. Just maybe, me and Frisk can actually go back to being kids.

Notes:

Thank you all for reading A Rabbit in the Underground! This was definitely up there in my favorite stories to write! It took a while to write this chapter due to the pressures of it being the final. But I am satisfied with the result.
