Chapter Text

Kaladin lay with his head in Myryn’s lap, sated and content. She leaned against the headboard, writing on a piece of parchment, using a small book as a tiny table. The only sound was the scratching of the quill. The silk sheets were smooth against Kaladin’s cheek as he settled more comfortably on Myryn’s thigh, and she paused in her writing to run her fingers through his hair, which lay in dark waves across the white bedclothes.

“Whatchu workin’ on?” Kaladin asked, his voice drowsy with contentment. They’d been in bed for hours. Maybe they would never leave.

“The list,” she said. She explained no further.

“Alright, I’ll bite. What’s ‘the list?’” He twisted and craned his neck to look up at his wife.

His wife. Storms, that was nice to think about.

She smirked.

“Here, why don’t you see for yourself.”

She handed him the parchment and he rolled onto his back and read aloud while she ran her fingers gently up and down his arm.

“Bent over my teacher’s desk,” he read. “Under the table during a war meeting.” He lowered the paper and looked up at her. “What is this?”

“It’s a list of places or ways that I think we should make love to or pleasure each other as soon as possible,” Myryn replied matter-of-factly.

Kaladin choked. “You can’t be serious,” he said, looking at the list again.

Myryn’s eyes danced. “I’m fully serious. I’ve waited a long time to get my hands on you. I’m going to make the most of it.”

Kaladin blinked, stunned. He scanned the list, cheeks growing more red with each entry.

“Myryn, that’s not our balcony. That’s a Windrunner base of operations for stealth missions.”

She shrugged. “So we’ll be stealthy.”

He read on. “That is not an appropriate use for my Lashings!”

“Says who?”

“I’m fine with it,” Syl chimed in, and Kaladin scowled at her.

“In the booth at the sing a song winehouse?” He lowered the paper and looked at her. “That’s in public!

She nodded. “I’m aware.”

The next item caused his mind to stop entirely.

“In Adolin and Shallan’s sitting room?!” He looked at her, aghast. “How do you expect to pull that off without them noticing?”

She grinned wickedly. “I’m sure we’ll think of something.” The way she said it was heavy with implication. He just wasn’t sure what exactly she was implying.

“Myryn, this is…this is the filthiest thing I've ever seen in my life.” Even as he said it, blood rushed to his groin of its own accord.

“Hmm,” she said, leaning down and laying a hand on his cheek. “Is that a bad thing?”

He swallowed but didn't answer.

She let her arm stretch along his chest, down his abdomen, to finally come to rest between his legs. She ran a finger over him through the sheets.

“Not all of you seems to mind,” she said fiercely.

He groaned and pulled her down till they were tangled in the sheets, madly kissing and grabbing at each other. Finally Myryn pulled back and looked at Kaladin, who was panting slightly.

“How about this? I keep adding to the list, and you get to choose which ones we do and when.”

“You're insatiable,” he said.

“I know,” she replied. And then she moved.

Damnation. She was going to be the death of him.

But what a way to go.

Notes:

Stay tuned for my next fic: an Explicit imagining of every item on The List.

Ha ha, just kidding, I’m not going to do that. Sorrynotsorry.

Thanks for reading and commenting and supporting me! I’ve really enjoyed this and I’m going to miss interacting with you all. Especially those four or five of you I’ve come to think of as my fans, lol. (My new friends? Man, I'm lame.) I’ll miss you guys!

I have no current plans to post anything else on AO3, but maybe someday I’ll need to remember why writing is fun again and I’ll come back and write that sequel I hinted at. Until then, I return to my real life, such as it is. I will still respond to any and all comments.

And remember: Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep. Which means: Write the dang story already! You can always edit it later.
