They’ve got a good thing going here.
Katsuki moved in with Shouto right out of high school, they’re both killing it as heroes, and most importantly, they’ve got this roommate thing down to a science.
It’s not that Katsuki can’t stand being without him, but maybe things are just better when Shouto’s around, and they’re good together, like all decent roommates should be.
So on the rare occasion that he’s gone, it’s pretty fucking awful, and now it looks like Katsuki might be approaching a future where Shouto doesn’t want to be here at all, and it’s Katsuki’s own fault.
If only he knew what he did to piss him off like this.

“I used my fire,” he informs Bakugou in the changing room after he finally catches up to him. He’s been eager to see his reaction, but Bakugou ducked out from the room and left before Shouto could catch him.
And now that he has him, Bakugou doesn’t seem impressed.

Shouto’s heart nearly stops. It feels like glass shattering on a marble floor, the pieces going everywhere, poking, hurting, making him bleed. It’s different to say it during sex. There, anything goes.
Still, he can’t say no. That’s one of the things they’ve promised without ever speaking the words. He’ll never lie to Katsuki. He’ll never make him hurt.
“...you’re my first priority,” Shouto answers instead.
Katsuki stiffens. “Oh.”
