Hizashi groaned, already resigning himself to the stress of having to piece together comprehensible notes off of what Shouta and Oboro took down, when the faint tchk of a small item hitting his desk reached his ears.
Lifting his head revealed a brand new packet of batteries sitting there, as if by magic. He stared at it for a second, waiting for his brain to engage, then glanced to the side when he felt a poke at his shoulder.
Shouta stared at him, deadpan, before flicking his eyes pointedly between the batteries and Hizashi's ears before turning back to the front of the class.

“I’m going to need you to explain this to me one more time,” Shōta finally says. Once again, Tsukauchi winces. For a cop, he has a terrible poker face.
“Based on your description of the villain, the pink dust at the scene, and Mic’s — er — condition, we believe you were attacked by a villain that goes by the name of Cupid,” Tsukauchi says, shifting in his seat. “His quirk is called hanahaki. He produces a pink dust that, when inhaled, makes a person fall desperately in love with whoever they see first. The feeling is so intense that the victim becomes ill and eventually dies if they cannot be near the object of their desire.”
Shōta blinks. It really doesn’t get much better the second time around.

Summary
So these flashes he'd been getting? Of all sorts of different scenery and eras and of Shouta? Well, if he couldn't have the real thing, Hizashi was more than happy to let his imagination run wild with whatever it wanted to come up with. And he really, really had thought it was his imagination.
There were a few times he'd even laugh and tell Shouta about the things his mind had come up with. “Once I imagined we were fishing together in this really murky pond!” or “Hey, I think you'd look so cool in Samurai armor – wha'do'ya think?” and even “Oh, oh, I had a dream the other day that I was a fancy noble and you were my bodyguard!”
Shouta always rolled his eyes and looked exasperated. Usually he scowled and told Hizashi to focus on the present, please and thank you. Hizashi laughed each time, but he enjoyed the day dreams too much. Shouta always looked at him so softly in them.
He never looked at him like that in real life.

Summary

He says it without even thinking, really, the words spilling out impulsively. He doesn’t even register it until it’s out of his mouth, and he can’t take it back.

“She guessed my favorite color first try..but between me and u...... i didn’t even have a favorite color until she yelled out yellow!! She was hella excited n smiling like a little kid. So i told her she was right and i havent seen yellow the same since, its in everything. I could probably live in it now.”

Hizashi holds no delusions about his feelings for Shouta. The ugly truth is that even if Shouta returned his feelings - and that's a big fuckin' 'if' - they are two sad, dysfunctional men who would make a sadder, more dysfunctional couple. They have no business being romantically involved in any capacity, much less raising kids together.
And yet here they are, in their shared UA apartment, sharing a bed in companionable silence, with a sleeping child who they have joint custody over tucked snug between them.
That's kinda fucked up, isn't it?
