Summary
Will Byers is minding his own business in the dorm he shares with his best friend, Mike Wheeler, when Mike shows up flustered and asking for help with kissing practice. Will tells himself it’s no big deal. They’re best friends. He can handle it even if he’s loved Mike for as long as he can remember. He’d do anything for Mike even if it means finally being close to him in a way he’s quietly dreamed about for years.
But being close like this is dangerous. One night of practice begins to stir feelings they can no longer ignore. Every touch and glance becomes heavier, every moment between them charged with something that has been waiting too long to be spoken.

Will is a terrible person.

"I think my death is the easiest solution to everything. The Upside Down will die with me."
Will can hear Mike swallow next to him.
"Will, I would let the world burn down to ashes if it meant keeping you in it."

They're back in Hawkins, everything is the way it's always been, except - yeah, it's still the middle of an apocalypse, Will is having nosebleeds and Mike would sacrifice the world for his best friend but is still losing him.

Will doesn't know how he’s ended up in this situation, truly. He’s toying with the possibility that he actually tripped over and died when he got up to answer the door and this is some pre-death hallucination, because there’s no way that he’s really in a situation where Mike Wheeler is sitting on his bed and asking Will to kiss him.
“You- you want me to what?” Will chokes out once he’s stopped coughing – because Mike had chosen to ask that particular question when Will was taking a sip of water, and he almost fucking drowned on it.
“Kiss me,” Mike repeats, confirming that Will wasn’t hallucinating the first time. “For practice.”or;

Vecna’s eyes land squarely on Mike.
