It's been a week since Sonic and Shadow both saved the world and stopped the Paradox Prism from breaking again.
It's also been a week since Sonic last saw Shadow.
It really shouldn't be that big of a deal to Sonic, it's not like he should care.
But then again, you can never really help who you fall in love with, no matter how much you deny it.

Summary
Eggman has introduced Sonic to SS, his new project, which is equal in strength and speed to Sonic, if not even stronger. And this, at first thought, weapon is a little hedgehog girl, whom Eggman seems to torment in order to make so strong, and of course for this reason Sonic, without a second thought, wants to go and save her, and then raise her as an ordinary child, also dragging Shadow into it.

Summary
After years and years of victories and losses against the blue menace that labelled himself a hero, Ivo Robotnik had learnt a thing or two about his behaviours and patterns. As much as he hated to admit, he knew that he’d never be able to catch Sonic off guard without a significant advantage, and in this case, all he needed was for one of his new inventions to get close enough to latch on. So, he kept hurling eggbots, robotic claws, bombs, lasers, the works– all until he managed to create one key opening.
