“No, wait,” Bakugou cut across firmly, shaking his head. “Shut up.” He closed his eyes, catching himself. “I mean… stop.” He inhaled sharply through his nose. “Just… let me…"
Kirishima watched Bakugou as he struggled with the words, and he quickly understood. This was one of those moments.
Kirishima expresses and understands love best through words of affirmation. Bakugou does his best to speak his language.

They surprised each other with their favorite treats (fruity twizzlers and mcdonalds), and they could always tell what kind of mood the other was in, just by the first few words in their sentence. Nico knew how Will preferred his omelets, and the fact that Will could eat breakfast for every meal. Will knew Nico's favorite firework.

Akaashi had never cared much for the notion that somehow the sum total for the possibility of love would be decided by name ingrained in his skin. It was irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. A helpful suggestion towards someone you could have good chemistry with. Nothing more.
Unfortunately Bokuto is adamant about the finality of a soulmate. A depressing reality when, although Bokuto unknowingly wears Akaashi’s name, Akaashi already can tell that because of their mismatched personalities Bokuto’s name will never appear on himself. But maybe he can convince him anyway.

It’s a salmon-colored flashcard, the type that’s sold in 500-packs with multiple colors. Bakugou stoops to retrieve it, frowning at the message he finds written on it.
Hey neighbor, welcome to the house! I heard you knocking things around, yesterday, and I think you maybe punched a wall? Anyway, the landlady gets pissy if you put holes in the wall, but I have a punching bag! You can come over and use it, or I can move it into the hall, if you want!
There’s only one other bedroom on the fourth floor. Now, Bakugou crosses the hall to the bedroom on the right side, slamming the post-it note against the door.
Fuck off and die, it reads.
Bakugou Katsuki is not going to jeopardize his future a second time, and that means staying away from anyone who gets too close. Kirishima Eijirou has never learned how not to be close to someone. Of course, they end up as next-door neighbors.
