The thing is Peter simply cannot focus lately. His thoughts drift back constantly, without his permission to the moment Quentin Beck had said those words to him. The disturbing as hell last words of a madman.
The confusing as hell words of a liar.
Peter, for the life of him, can’t figure out why the heck Beck would ever say something like that, much less say it to Peter. It had felt like the perverted ravings of a lunatic, not the calculating master-mind that Peter knew Beck to be.

Peter is struggling in the aftermath of his trip to Europe, and with the implications of what some of Quentin Beck’s final words to him on the bridge in London could have meant. With worsening nightmares, confusing flashbacks, and a fun new aversion to anyone entering his personal space, Peter can’t seem to shake the feeling that there’s something he doesn’t quite remember about his time in Europe.

This is just another one of those things
Peter knows what to do. He’s done this before.

Tony shakes his head. “Yeah, doesn’t matter. You’re still my kid. And besides,” here his voice turns careful, a little shrewd, a lot gentle. “It’s not just about your age on paper. It’s also about experience, power- a lot of things that go beyond just how many times you’ve traveled around the sun.”
Peter’s heart is thudding in his chest now, the rush of blood in his ears deafening.
“Peter.” Tony’s voice is so quiet, so impossibly gentle. Peter feels like he might crumble apart under the weight of it. “You want to tell me what happened in Prague?”
Or
Feeling shut out by his friends on their junior class trip, Peter finds himself drawn into a fight alongside a new, strange superhero. And if that man, Mysterio, has a gaze that lingers, that makes his stomach turn and his cheeks heat and the hair on his neck stand up? It’s fine. He can handle it. He’s got this all under control.
And when Mysterio shows his true colors, stealing EDITH right from under Peter’s nose? That’s fine too. He can fix his mistakes. He doesn’t need any help taking down Mysterio. And he definitely doesn’t need any help dealing with the aftermath.

“You’re… you’re the Iron Bandit,” the stable boy breathed, half in awe and half in terror, which was entirely reasonable considering said outlaw was still aiming a gun to his chest with a calculating glare.
But seeming to find no danger in the scruffy, wild-haired child who couldn’t be older than twelve, the outlaw lowered his gun and leant back into the stack of hay he had found himself resting against for the past hour. He’d planned to take one of the horses and rendezvous back with his crew, the infamous Avengers, but that’s the thing about bank robberies. They tended to end in shootouts, which usually ended in a situation like this.
“Oh my god… you’re- you’re bleeding,” the boy suddenly stuttered as he realised the deep crimson blood that had pooled onto the stable floor beneath the outlaw’s leg.
The Iron Bandit huffed, dropping his head back against the hay as another wave of exhaustion rolled over him. “That’s usually what bullets do.”

Beck is out for revenge and it's Peter who takes the fall, as always. In the aftermath Peter seeks comfort from those around him and finds love and support in spades. Tony seems to be the only one unsure of how to proceed with Peter. It takes more than a few tries to get the genius back on track with his son.
Or; Peter gets hurt, Tony is clueless, and the rest of the Avengers men come to the rescue.

It’s like a weight is lifted of his shoulders, because now he knows. He knows why he feels different. Why he’s different. What it means to be different.
Waiting for the subway, sitting next to May on the bench in the sun, eating lunch, he tells her. “You can’t tell him, May. You can’t tell him”.
“Tell whom?” May asks with a confused look on her face.
“You can’t tell Mr. Stark about this. He doesn’t… he doesn’t need to know. Not yet. Not yet”.
