Summary
With the dissolution of the Accords and the defeat of the Camarilla, the U.S. Military is seeing a glut of support from newly minted witches the world over, which means expanding their training footprint. Sergeant Tally Craven is presented with the opportunity to lead courses in Fort Greywood, a state-of-the-art training center for witches on the west coast.

Summary
The Bellweather Unit have been invited as the guests of honor at a civilian New Year's Eve party in Washington DC. Time has passed since the war with the Camarilla, elevating the First Song Stewards to their own plane of celebrity. General Alder, resurrected for the final time at the Mother's behest, oversees the women in their parade through Washington--and occasionally lobbies for the military as a part-time consultant when the need arises.
So when Tally latches onto Alder at the party to stop a pestering journalist, neither of them thinks all that much about the little charade. That is, until the civilians start counting down to midnight.
