“Are you, what, actually not a part of this?” not-Dream asked, tiling his head and studying Tommy’s face, his expression. “Shoot. Guess not. Um. Okay, then.” He raised a hand, and took off his mask, revealing his face in a smooth motion that made Tommy’s heart jolt. “Nice to meet you, mysterious visitor. I’m Dream. Welcome to the Hunt.”

Or, after an accidental portal disaster, Tommy ends up on a Server far from the Dream SMP, and meets three hunters whose only objective seems to be killing Dream, and a much different version of Dream, whose only objective seems to be staying alive. (And keeping Tommy alive too, which made absolutely no sense at all.) -

Summary
Tommy was just trying to get away from the vanguard of murder robots. He did not mean to fall from the sky and break most of his equipment (including his bones). And now he's been kidnapped/adopted by a beanpole, a wingman, and a pig. Help.
Phil and Ranboo are just chillin' in Techno's house when a tiny feral version of Tommy falls from the sky. Which shouldn't be possible because, according to Ranboo, Tommy died in prison. He's got weird armor, weirder weapons, he just tried to stab Phil, and- oh, okay, he blasted a hole in the wall. Lovely.
None of these people know what they're doing, and the child just brings more angst, fluff, and shenanigans than anyone thinks is possible while also kickstarting a mass emotional healing arc that no one knew they needed.

Dystopian resistance sci-fi Tommy falls through a portal and gets adopted by the Syndicate. (And yes it's adoption, because Phil.) -

Summary
It had been over a year since Tommy found himself on Hermitcraft with Etho during the man's self-imposed exile. It had been over a year since he'd escaped his own exile on the Dream SMP. He's found peace he hadn't felt in a long time and the healing he so desperately needed. But after his first visit back home, what he finds is nothing like he expected it to be. Distraught, he begs Xisuma to let him bring someone back with him on his next visit. Someone Xisuma is very certain would not be safe for Tommy to be around.

If you haven’t heard of it, seriously go check it out, it’s amazing. Essentially, after breaking out of prison, Dream fulfills his promise to kill and revive Tommy over and over again. When he’s done, Tommy isn’t the same. His hair is pure white from being revived so many times, he doesn’t speak, and he no longer reacts to anything, even pain.

Summary
Tommy wants to be left alone. He has enough of the constant conflict of the server and is retiring. Living far away from everyone is what he wants to do. He wants his peace and quiet and the occasional visit from Tubbo and Ranboo.
What the definitely not still traumatized teenager doesn’t want, is to find a severely injured man in his forest. And he definitely doesn’t want to take him home and keep the man from bleeding out. This is not how his retirement arc was supposed to go!
And why do the lifeless green eyes of the stranger remind him of someone?

Xisuma hesitated. Then, he sighed, knowing the effect his words would have.
“Xisuma - it’s nice to… officially meet you.”
There was just a single moment in which Xisuma took in Tommy’s terrified expression, then with a strong beat of his new wings, the teenager was soaring away in a panic.
Xisuma grimaced, and lent back against the bank of the river and let out a groan.
OR:Xisuma hadn't met Tommy yet - sure, he had seen the kid around and had heard so many stories. But he hadn't wanted to scare the kid. Tommy, however, catches him in one of his costumes and just assumes he's another hybrid
