After a bad hit knocks Ilya’s consciousness out of his body — literally — Shane finds himself sheltering the soul of his decade-long situationship in the back of his head. Turns out it’s a lot harder to keep secrets when you share a body.

The seam on socks inside shoe, scratchy clothing tags, wrinkly fingers when we shower. Is painful. These are not things I notice in my body. I did not know you were in pain all the time. Did you know?
“I know I’m high maintenance,” he mutters. “I’m picky and difficult to be with and freak out when things don’t go my way. I know I’m a lot. Probably too much.”
No, no. Пиздец. Shane, I like your strangeness. Nothing about you is difficult. You are particular, make it easier for me to know how to care for you. I put items in correct spot in fridge, you are happy. I dim lights and find sunglasses when your brain is loud, you are happy. I learn to avoid texture combinations that make you sick, you are happy. Is good. Is efficient, really.”
“Yes, Shane. Worth it. Now you have seen me cry, my only options are to kill you or marry you. Is Russian way.”
