“Bakugou, let’s go” Aizawa called and Katsuki’s head shot up, looking at his teacher with confusion. Looking rather unimpressed the older man jerked his head towards the filled and Katsuki turned to see what he was talking about. She was stood back in the middle of the pitch, looking at him expectantly. Katsuki frowned, when had the shitty candy cane left the field? She huffed at his lack of movement, rolling her eyes as she made a come here motion with both her hands. “Well? You coming or what blondie?” she called and Katsuki jerked back to reality.
Growling Katsuki jumped up and stormed across the field. He came to a stop in front of her, snarling as he got into position. “Finally decided to join me then. Thought you were going to chicken out” she teased. Katsuki growled, fists smoking as he took a threatening step forward. “Ha! Like hell I would. Your perky arse is mine” he yelled, confident in his ability to finally be the one to push her across the boundary lines and defeat her.

“How comes she isn’t like that with you?” Sero said teasingly, leaning forward to nudge at Katsuki’s arm and jarring him out of his staring. “Shut up soy sauce,” he grumbled turning away from the couple.
Katsuki didn’t know what he was feeling, a weird sort of sadness settling over him but he knew he didn’t like it. He had been so sure it was her who had gifted him the little black box of chocolates and who knew, maybe she had but apparently he and the candy cane weren’t on as equal footing as he had though.
Fuck he hatted Valentine’s Day and all the shitty things it represented but most of all he hated how he had hoped for something more and had been left disappointed and alone. This day couldn’t be over any quicker even if someone used a quirk to fast forward time.

Friends. God damned friends she had said but Katsuki was seriously starting to thinking that was a whole load of crap. Grunting he pulled his coat tighter around him and glared down at his feet as he trudged through the snow towards the U.A dorms. Friends didn't go around holding hands and cuddling up to one another at every opportunity. They didn't flirt or insinuate things that only lovers would do and they most certainly didn't share a bed almost every night. Friends. HA! What a load of crap.
"Do you think she will mind?" Katsuki glanced sideways at Todoroki, his mismatched eyes focused on the path ahead of them and a small frown tugging at his lips. "Why the hell would she mind?" he snapped. "She didn't invite us" he said simply, his monotone voice giving nothing away. Huffing Katsuki turned away from him and went back to glaring at his feet. No she hadn't invited them but like hell was Katsuki going to leave her all by herself over Christmas. Any way he needed answers, an explanation as to what the hell was going on between the three of them and she was the only person who could give them to him. "It'll be fine" he grumbled, not sure who he was trying to convince more.

A lone disk sat on top of black tissue paper, gleaming in the light. It had been written on in black sharpie, a single heart with an arrow through it and the words ‘for my heroes’ underneath in her familiar scrawl. Shoto swallowed, his hands trembling as nerves began to take over. Beside him Katsuki reached out, his own hands shaking as he picked up the disk. Shoto’s hand shot out, grabbing his wrist once more and let out a pathetic little whimper, sounding like a wounded animal.
Sighing Katsuki turned to him. It was a strange thing, seeing Katsuki looking so compassionate. He wasn’t scowling or snarling, just looking at Shoto with complete and utter understanding of what he was going through because he was the same. “You know if we hand it over those assholes will never tell us what’s on it” his voice was low, monotone even and Shoto knew he was right.

Not for the long hours and constant strain they have to put their bodies through to get even so much as a look at the hero rankings let alone get on them. Not for the pressure it puts on your lives and the people you care about. No one ever prepared them for what it would be like to lose, to come out of a fight worse off then when you had gone in and they definitely hadn’t bothered to teach them how to balance the expectations of being a hero with the commitments of being in a relationship.
They’re underprepared for what lies ahead but they had already been through so much that even the suggestion of giving up was laughable. They were heroes, through and through and nothing was going to change that. Not even a girl stuck in a prison a thousand kilometres from the Yakutia.

He couldn't stop the blush that spread across his cheeks but he stayed calm, his gaze never wavering. "The latter" he clarified and her eyes widened slightly, her surprise clear as anything.
“Not that I’m not flattered and all...” Shoto winced at her words. Next would come her polite decline and he would have no choice but to avoid her for a lest a few weeks. “…but you know there is a third member to our little trio who has all the appropriate equipment and I can testify that he knows how to use it. Twelve out of ten would ride again”. She smirked at him suggestively and Shoto frowned. That was not what he had expected.

“What’s the last thing you remember?” Katsuki was startled by her question. Did she know that he was struggling to remember or was this just some routine question she asked everyone who had taken a blow to the head? Clearly seeing his distress she let go of his head, instead unclipping the pulse oximeter on his finger and finally the annoying beeping sound came to a stop. “Take your time, there’s no rush”. He wanted to growl at her, tell her to get lost but she was just doing her job and Aizawa would probably clout him if he didn’t behave.
Sighing he tried to think back, past the haze and back to that morning. What had he been doing? He had been somewhere, doing something but what exactly? Like a switch had been thrown it suddenly came rushing back to him and he let out a sigh of relief. “I was in my room, packing to go home for brake before classes started again” he said confidently. The nurse seemed to freeze for a second, his words obviously not what she had expected. “Good. Now can you tell me how old you are?” What kind of crazy arse question was that? His age would be in his sodding file, why did she need to ask? Something was going on and he didn’t like being kept in the dark.

She stepped in between them, smiling widely as she spoke. “Shouto was just helping me warm up” she explained and Katsuki grunted. His eyes moved past the women stood between them and dragged over Shouto’s body, his red eyes narrowing when he saw that bulge in his jumpsuit.
“Is that what he was doing?” Shouto turned his head away from them, feeling the slight blush forming on his cheeks. Katsuki was teasing him, Shouto could hear it in his voice but it didn’t change the fact that he still felt like a school kid getting caught behind the bike shed by a teacher. Katsuki didn’t like it when he wasn’t included, Shouto had learnt that the hard way.
