Description:

Based on Lauralots' Alexander Pierce Should Have Died Slower series, as well as personal experiences, this universe explores Bucky as the host of a traumagenic DID system.

The Winter System consists of Bucky (the Host), the Soldier (a trauma-holder protector/former persecutor), Jamesy (a trauma-holder system little), and Winnie (a nonhuman system little, split from Jamesy).

Notes:

Some of the stories within this series are based on real-life, personal events.

There are some that are purely fiction as well as some heavily based on real traumatic events we as a DID system have experienced.

As well, all alters in the Winter System are on the Autism Spectrum, though that was always there and not caused by Hydra.

---

Some stories contain graphic depictions of sexual and physical abuse and violence. Heed the tags.

This series is based on personal experiences and is not meant to educate or explain all DID systems or people on the Autism Spectrum. No two people, nor their experiences, are the same.

---

Within this series, Bucky and Soldier are in an established relationship with Steve post-Hydra. They have strict, specified boundaries set up to avoid any further harm to their system littles based on the actions of Alexander Pierce during their time in Hydra. DID systems as well as people on the Autism Spectrum are able to have happy, healthy, consensual relationships, even if they have child alters. That being said, all aformentioned parties take necessary precautions to avoid triggering traumatic memories or creating more harm.

Steves interactions with Jamesy and Winnie are strictly platonic and is considered a father-son relationship.

Bucky within this series is sex-repulsed asexual due to his extreme chronic trauma at the hands of Hydra. On the opposite side, Soldier is the only one in their system who is sex-positive.

---

Through recovery and time they are able to work through certain aspects of their trauma to form healthy internal and external relationships with themselves, their system-mates, and the people around them who care about them.

They have chosen to recover through working together and learning to cooperate instead of full intergration, both of which are valid forms of system recovery.

Recovery is not linear.
