Summary
Clarke turns around, surprised to see Bellamy standing in the entryway.
“What’s up?”
“Octavia told me to-” he pauses, just staring over the top of Clarke’s head.
“Are you ok?”
“Yeah, O was just worried ’cause I was on guard.”
“That doesn’t seem like a reason,” Clarke says, standing up from where she was working.
“I think I might not feel great,” he says, then immediately collapses.

Summary
As soon as they open the door though, confetti gets thrown in Bellamy’s face by a small hand.
“Octavia, why are you throwing confetti at me?” he asks, then spits a piece out of his mouth.
“Because I found some. Happy birthday, Bell,” she says, offering him a box.
“Great. I got a cold for my birthday.”

Summary
“Well, I’m very sorry, Blake.”
“About what?”
“There are people that we have to keep at bay. If we can send one less of our people, and they still be satiated, then we will.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Bellamy demands, looking around.
There’s no one else in sight, and the man isn’t moving towards him anymore. Bellamy still reaches for the knife in his belt, breathing quickly but steadily.

Summary
Clarke wakes up early, a weird feeling swirling in her gut. She climbs out of bed, getting ready, then heading to the infirmary. She doesn’t even make it there since one of the guards, a man that she doesn’t recognize, is actively trying to wrestle someone else to the ground. The man is screaming while the guard looks startled.
There’s blood nearby, a lot of it. However, neither of them seems to be injured, and they’re definitely not bleeding enough to cause a puddle like that. Also, once she looks closer, she can tell that the blood on the ground looks older. The guard manages to knock the man out as Clarke runs over.
“What happened?” she demands.
“I’m not sure, ma’am. I was going to sign in, and this guy jumped me. I’m going to get some rope, and ask the guard if they saw anything.”

Summary
"We’ve been stuck in Arkadia for too long. Speaking of which, why do you think Abby and Kane let us come out here? This is an odd scouting mission," Miller says.
“They want to find Clarke. At this point they’ve checked everywhere they thought she was going to be. Now they’re having us check places they didn’t think she was going to be. Though this part of the woods is really dark. Is it just me or is it actively getting darker?” Bellamy asks, glancing up.
“No, it’s not just you. This place really doesn’t seem safe. I don’t think we should have come out here by ourselves. Especially since it’s on the opposite side of Mount Weather, and we haven’t been out here.”
“That’s part of why Kane and Abby think she might be hiding out here though I do think they should have sent us with some backup. I’m not gonna complain though, because I know we’re short staffed. They meant for Jasper and Monty to go with us, but they got busy at the last minute.”

Summary
Bellamy walks into his mother’s office, and he immediately freezes. Octavia is laying on the bed, not moving. He doesn’t even remember the last time that she didn’t run to hug him, or jump onto him when he came back home from school.
“Is she ok?” Bellamy whispers, sounding frantic.
“Not really. She was playing with scissors earlier, and she cut herself. I gave her some stitches, but I’m afraid it’s going to get infected if she doesn’t have it treated properly. I don’t know how to treat it any better than I already have,” Aurora says, grabbing Bellamy’s arm tightly.
“It’s ok, Mom. It’ll be fine. We’ll try to keep it really clean, and if anything happens, I’ll figure something out.”

Summary
There’s a noise to his left near the treeline, immediately drawing his attention. He grabs the pistol tucked into his waistband, eyes scanning for anything moving. A small cylinder rolls towards Bellamy, and he’s at least half convinced that it’s about to blow up. It doesn’t though, and it just starts spewing smoke. Bellamy tries not to breathe it in, but he ends up passing out anyway. He’s in a cage when he wakes up, and immediately starts to panic in his head.
Where am I? This doesn’t look like a-
He looks around and sees just rows and rows of cages. Most of them have people in them.

Summary
Bellamy wakes up feeling off that morning, but he pushes it off due to lack of sleep. He’s been working doubles, and holding training sessions on his slow days. No matter how much he does, there’s always more to do. His body aches as he showers and gets ready for the day. It’s almost enough to convince him to climb back into bed, but not quite.
He had told one of the older guards that he’d been working under that he needed to take at least one day off, but he’d been denied almost immediately. After all, no one else has been complaining. Which apparently mattered even though no one had been doing as much work, or putting in as many hours as Bellamy had. So, he keeps forcing himself through every day.

Summary
Bellamy stands in front of the new grave he had just dug for Monroe before the funeral. The funeral was the other day, so he’s the only one that’s still coming. He still can’t seem to make himself stay at camp for too long, and tears slowly fill his eyes thinking about it. He barely stops them from falling.
“What have I done wrong? Was this all a foolish endeavor? Is what we’re doing now the problem? Are my friends ever going to stop dying?” he whispers, wrapping his arms around his knees, pulling them in towards his chest. “Are we even meant to live in this world? It wasn’t ours to begin with, and everyone has done everything they can to make that abundantly clear. Maybe Kane was right all along, but they’ve betrayed us too. It’s like everyone forgot Mount Weather.”

Summary
Bellamy rubs his wrist across his forehead, trying to wipe the sweat away. Some of it comes off, but some of it sticks to his skin, making him feel sick. He turns back to the mop that he’s holding, putting his weight against it as he scrubs the floors. A boot appears in his view, making him pause.
“Did you just put that mop on my boot?” Williams, a guard working in this section, asks. His face is turning red as he asks, anger coloring his face.
“No, sir. It’s right beside your shoe. It’s beside you, and that was an accident too. I didn’t see you, sir.”
“What was that, Blake?”
“I just said that it wasn’t touching your shoe, and that I didn’t see you.”
