Adam is heavy and Brandon’s going to need to breathe again at some point, but right now he’ll willingly put up with any number of discomforts if it means he’s got Adam there, surrounding and invading all his senses until there’s nothing else Brandon can see, smell, or feel.
“I miss you so much,” he whispers, because Adam’s asleep and therefore it’s safe to be vulnerable. “I love the Pens, I do, playing there has been incredible, but—” He presses a kiss to Adam’s temple. “I miss you so much it’s like I’ve lost an arm, or one of my senses. I turn to talk to you a thousand times a day. I don’t—how am I supposed to do this without you?”
Adam stirs and Brandon snaps his mouth shut. He’s smiling when Adam lifts his head, blinking blearily down at him.

“With Brandon?” Your voice goes up an octave. You knew him and Adam were close, and that they FaceTimed sometimes, but you’ve never even met him.
“Yeah,” Adam’s tone reflects back your hesitation. “See, he’ll be in Michigan to cross the border and head into Toronto, and we’ll be down there to see your parents. So it kind of… matches up.”

Blinking, he realizes he’s lost the thread of the conversation and Brandon’s still waiting patiently for his answer.
“You’re tiny,” Adam tells him.
“I’m really not,” Brandon says, but his lips are twitching. “It’s not my fault you’re the size of three moose put together. Have I noticed what?”
Adam frowns. “I don’t know, what?”
Brandon shakes his head. “You are smashed, buddy. Come on, let’s go while you can still walk.”

There’s not like. It’s not an official chain of people or anything. There’s not a group chat for “people who don’t want to see Kent Parson choke on his own vomit and die” or anything. But there’s a - like a daisy chain, maybe. Or a paper chain. Something a little more fragile - prettier, Adam would say. People to text, or call, just to be sure. One time Troy, sounding like he was eighty instead of twenty five, called it ‘Parse’s fuckbuddies and also Jeff Troy’. It’s not strictly accurate - Brandon knows for a fact Kent’s never slept with Nicklas Backstrom (not for lack of trying), and no one thinks having Sidney Crosby as the point person for a Kent Parson crisis is a good idea. Kent objects to a) there being any kind of chain at all in a non-sexy context and b) Jeff calling them ‘fuckbuddies’ because he says he only makes sweet sweet love to people and would never call someone a fuckbuddy.
