He waited just behind the fiberglass door as the stranger dropped two storeys and landed in a crouch before calmly walking across the roof toward him. Somehow Wyll thought this was more terrifying than if they had run—the unbothered nature of their stride put him off-guard and once again he was intimately aware of how hard his heart hammered against his lungs. This was no elf, he was sure of it. He didn't know what they were at all, only that they were not what they presented themself to be.
