Astarion watched her from the shadows, his keen gaze catching the way her soft body moved as she worked, the little roll of her stomach when she leaned forward. She was so alive—warm, kind, and heartbreakingly unaware of her effect on others. Gale was seated nearby, seemingly focused on a book, but Astarion wasn’t fooled. The wizard’s eyes flicked to Tav often, lingering when she laughed softly at her own thoughts or tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear as she worked.
It was intolerable, really. The way Gale looked at her—his Tav—as if she were some celestial object of study. And yet, Astarion couldn’t summon the venom he wanted to. After all, Gale wasn’t wrong. Tav was remarkable, and she wasn't his.. not yet.

Features several flashbacks, fueled by longing, to their tadpoled adventures—particularly those in which Durge and Astarion forged their deep bond. While honoring the game’s romantic scenes—most of which I consider part of this narrative—I’ve also reworked some and introduced new, original moments to better capture the essence of their passionate relationship.

Summary
Ileleste’s habit of robbing corpses had earned him a very quick promotion to Captain Silkleaf despite his inability to speak Common well. Or to speak at all. He knows he shouldn’t get mixed up with foolish wizards - he owes his obscene existence to a wizard’s mistake, after all - but something about Gale intrigues him. It’s probably just that he hasn’t seen a human before.
But then Gale mentions Netheril - he might know something that will help Ileleste find out what he is; and where, if anywhere, he belongs.
Gale, however, is a little bit pre-occupied. First, the orb ate his silverflame, the ability that Mystra’s Chosen have to restore magic to the dead areas left still scarred from the Spellplague. Second the tadpole ate most of his magic. Now, he has very little Weave left to feed it. Of course he could continue on his quest for magical artefacts to sate its ravenous desire. A difficult task for a lone wizard at the best of times, and these are not the best of times. Not when the orb is affecting him so. He will be indispensable. He just has to give them a hand…

“I apologize Lord Astarion, but the summoning spell did work properly, she just so happened to have lived in a different realm from this one, one without magic. I can send her back and recast the spell again if you wish.” The old wizard tried to reassure the elf.
Stormi sighed quietly in relief, unfortunately her computer didn't get the memo to shut up.
“Fuck you! And fuck everything you've ever done to me!” Astarion’s own voice rang out over her speakers before she slammed the laptop shut and clutching it to her chest, hoping, praying he didn't think too much of it.
“No, on second thought I think I'll keep this one.” The elf walked closer to the girl with her laptop, now wide eyed, pale and shaking in fear, she knew who he was and what sort of tendencies he had, could she survive him? Would he send her home after whatever he summoned her for is finished? She already knew the answer, a resounding NO.
It was a bad day to choose to fight Cazador in Baldur’s Gate 3.

People like this just loved to walk in like they owned the place, trying to ‘shake things up.’ He’d seen enough of this type in his 9 months here; they never lasted, and Astarion made sure of that.
Astarion's unlikely escape from Cazador has him holing up in the Lower City, working nights at the local pizza place. Things are going just about as fine as they could for a person in hiding, when a new shift lead gets hired on - a chef, ready to make some changes.
Astarion is not a fan of change.
