She plans to do only that, to show Lena that she's ready for the job and for more. Instead, when she finds Ink5oul in a dirty warehouse tattooing a corpse, she listens. And the more Ink5oul talks and the more Gwen learns about what their tattoos can do to - or for - people, the less she wants to share them with the OIAR.

For the past couple of weeks, she’d followed her schedule even more strictly than usual: eat something quick at 8:30 PM, walk to work, do her job from 9:00 to 5:00, walk home, then catch a few hours of sleep. Or at least, she had tried to. As she shot awake in a cold sweat, no matter how many lights she had left on, Gwen couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched.

Gwen’s not stupid. She’s heard a lot of horror stories from her family about what happens when you meet up with strangers from the internet. As well as a remarkable amount of cases where victims describe ink5oul’s charms with embarrassing frankness.
That’s easy, then. She just doesn’t succumb to their charms. Thinking back on her memory of them, they’re not all that winning anyway. Just grimy, with a flat, gritty voice. Nothing to wax poetic about.
So it’s entirely her own choice to go, after weighing the pros and cons. If she can manage to nab them as an external as well, then that’s just a bonus.

It was just like when he was trapped in his own mind while his body was puppeteered around to make it seem like Doctor David was a real thing, and not just something that The Spiral made up to frighten people who had been mistreated by medical professionals.
He felt the water pulling him in like a porcelain hand that had snatched him away from the life he had known when he was David Ramao, and he started to panic, because he didn’t want his life in this universe that he barely knew to be snatched away from him.

“No, no, the-” police can't help, she almost says, but she can sense that Alice will take that to mean she needs convincing. She sucks in another shaky breath. “It isn't a police matter.”
“Riiight.” Alice nods, disbelieving, but doesn't push her luck. Gwen actually misses the comforting warmth of her palm when she pulls it away to watch as she sniffles and sobs and dabs at her sick-stained black blouse. Alice says nothing for a moment, then clicks her tongue. “Here, you're only making that worse.”
As Gwen looks up to snap something about not sitting in sick all night, she's met with the sight of Alice pulling her navy blue jumper off, discarding it in her lap while she pulls off the black spaghetti strap vest she has underneath, leaving a star patterned bra and Gwen speechless.
The aftermath of Bonzo if Alice had been there to comfort Gwen and not off in a soggy, manky hole in Manchester.
