Summary
After Apollo spontaneously decides to stay in Khura’in, it’s no surprise that he’s left some things behind, so the WAA takes it upon themselves to pack up a box of items he needs. Klavier's addition: a hand-written letter squeezed into the side as a gentle reminder that, even though they tease one another, he does care for Herr Forehead’s well being and hopes he’s doing well in his new home halfway across the world.
To Klavier’s surprise, Apollo actually writes back.

Apollo’s temper flares. “That’s not fair! I do care about you!” And another wave of instant regret hits him.
Klavier’s shoulders bunch, eyes narrowing. He looks the closest to angry that Apollo has seen him tonight. “Not fair?” he hisses. “You have the nerve to walk up to me and pretend things are okay, like you didn’t disappear on me for three years, and you’re telling me I’m not being fair?”
To Apollo’s alarm, Klavier’s voice is rising. Apollo feels the eyes of other patrons on him, but he suddenly doesn’t care.
“I do care! Kla—Prosecutor Gavin, that’s why I’m here!”
“After three fucking years!” Klavier snarls. His expression crumples. “What are you even doing, Herr Justice? Why didn’t you just leave like you’re so good at doing?”
In which Apollo returns to L.A. and finds himself in a late-night, face-to-face encounter with Klavier Gavin, his once-almost-something whom he hasn't seen, or spoken to, in three years—and whom he hadn't told he was leaving in the first place.

Apollo is a nerd. Walk into his office, and you’ll see several volumes of manga sitting alongside law books on his desk. Klavier is, by most people’s definition, NOT a nerd. So predictably, when he first hears Apollo gushing about his various interests, Klavier has no idea what he’s talking about. That doesn’t stop him from pretending to be just as invested, eager for the excuse to talk to his crush. What he doesn’t expect, however, is for Apollo to invite him over for an anime marathon, and Klavier now has to figure out how to convince Apollo that he’s more interested in the shows rather than the person he’s watching them with.

Apollo Justice was never fond of the whole soulmate concept. Fate was never kind to him so having it decide who he should spend the rest of his life with made him nervous. Having lost many partners to finding their soulmates didn’t really help his stance on the matter either.
Yet here he is, in his bathroom staring at the petal he coughed up in a wad of toilet paper.
